'The Bear' star Ayo Edebiri fan-girls over Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman on Emmy Awards
Oklahoma native, Golden Globe-nominated actress and Country Music Hall of Fame singer Reba McEntire and her once and future co-star Melissa Peterman cracked up the star-studded audience as presenters on Sunday night's 76th Primetime Emmy Awards.
"I'm a little bit nervous. Yeah, I've never done this before. And I've watched the Emmys, and a lot can go wrong," said Peterman, who co-starred with McEntire on the latter's eponymous 2001-2007 TV series "Reba."
"We memorized everything — even the nominees."
Peterman then challenged Reba to join her in proving that they had memorized the nominees in the outstanding scripted variety series category.
"Eyes shut," Peterman ordered.
"What?" Reba replied.
"Eyes shut. Shut your eyes," Peterman said.
Closing their eyes, the pair playfully pretended to peek as they read both nominees in the category — "Saturday Night Live" and "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" — and then presented the trophy of Oliver's HBO series.

'The Bear' star Ayo Edebiri fan-girls over meeting 'Reba' co-stars Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman
Ayo Edebiri, an Emmy-winning star of the hit FX series "The Bear," couldn't help but fan-girl over Reba and Peterman on the Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet.
When she encountered the "Reba" stars, Edebiri, a nominee for the second consecutive year in the outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series, started and squealed, "Oh, my God!"
"I'm trying so hard to be normal. Oh, my God. Literally, my legs are shaking," Edebiri gushed. "I've truly spent so many hours of my life with the both of you."
Reba and Peterman graciously thanked her and posed for photos with "The Bear" star ahead of the Emmys broadcast.
'Reba' co-stars reunite in anticipated new series 'Happy's Place'
Reba and Peterman became friends when they co-starred in the still-beloved series "Reba," and they are reuniting on the anticipated new sitcom "Happy's Place."
"Happy's Place" will debut as part of the 2024 fall schedule coming to NBC. The show is set to air at 7 p.m. Fridays on the network.
Reba's upcoming sitcom will lead off a new NBC comedy hour, followed by the Season 3 return of fan-favorite “Lopez vs. Lopez,” starring comedic actor George Lopez, at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The hit newsmagazine “Dateline NBC” will cap the evening from 8 to 10 p.m. Fridays.
"Happy's Place" will debut Friday, Oct. 18 on NBC. The new series will stream next day on Peacock, along with the rest of NBC’s entertainment lineup.
The series will co-star Belissa Escobedo, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and Reba's boyfriend and fellow Oklahoman Rex Linn, who attended Sunday's Emmy Awards with the flame-haired star.
The new show stars Reba as Bobbie, who inherits her father’s Tennessee bar, Happy's Place, when he dies. Her character is less than thrilled when she learns she has a new business partner: the younger half-sister she never knew she had, played by "Blue Beetle" star Escobedo.
