‘Beef’: Youn Yuh-jung Joins Season 2 Of Netflix Anthology Series
EXCLUSIVE: Oscar winner Youn Yuh-jung (Minari, Pachinko) has been tapped as a lead opposite Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny in Season 2 of Netflix’s anthology series Beef, from creator, executive producer and showrunner Lee Sung Jin and A24.
In the 8-episode new installment, a young couple (Spaeny, Melton) witnesses an alarming fight between their boss (Isaac) and his wife (Mulligan), triggering chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner (Youn).

For Youn, this marks a reunion with Netflix and A24. Veteran Korean actress’ first American series was Netflix’s Sense8, in which she had a small role. Youn’s Hollywood debut was in A24’s Minari, which earned her an Oscar, among other major awards.
She currently stars in Apple TV+’s period drama Pachinko, which is awaiting word on a potential third season, and will next be seen in the romantic comedy The Wedding Banquet, a remake of the Ang Lee movie.
The first season of Beef, starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, premiered in 2023 and went on to dominate the following awards cycle. Its haul of eight Emmy Awards includes Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.
Lee, Yeun and Wong as well as Jake Schreier return as executive producers for Season 2.
Youn, whose career spans five decades, is repped by CAA.
