Ben Affleck Is Moving Forward With His Bachelor Lifestyle Even After Alleged PDA With Jennifer Lopez
Fans should not get confused about Ben Affleck’s recent PDA situation with Jennifer Lopez at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Saturday, Sept. 14. The 52-year-old actor is moving ahead with plans to divorce his second wife as he settles into his new $20.5 million Pacific Palisades residence.
After his split from Lopez in the late spring, Affleck moved into a rental property in Brentwood. He was not only done with his two-year marriage to the 55-year-old superstar, he was also done with their humongous $61 million Beverly Hills estate that they purchased together in May 2023. “Ben never liked the house. It’s too far away from his kids,” a source told People in June. Affleck closed on his new home on J.Lo’s birthday — July 24 — which allegedly took her by surprise.

“Ben needed new energy in his life. He’s in a better mindset and is pushing forward,” an Us Weekly insider noted. “Ben moving into a new home was the closure of the relationship.” The Daily Mail spotted movers packing up his temporary summer home, which is a sure sign that their unexpected cozy appearance together does not indicate a reconciliation. It’s a reunion that their friends also don’t seem to want to encourage.
“Jennifer craves romance and adulation,” an In Touch Weekly insider said while pointing out that Affleck “is always looking for the next rush, whether it’s good for him or not. Ben’s treading a dangerous line being so handsy with his estranged wife.” The estranged duo know that a divorce is the best move for them, but they seem to be having a hard time letting go.
The other issue still bonding them together is their Beverly Hills estate which recently found a buyer for $64 million, only to have it fall out of escrow, per TMZ. It’s likely going to be an investment loss for them as the media outlet revealed that they “spent several million on renovations.” They will also have to pay a “hefty fee” to their realtor and the dreaded 5.25% Los Angeles mansion tax.
For a couple only married for two years, Affleck and Lopez have a lot of ties to break.
