Ben Affleck shocks internet with fluent Spanish interview: 'I had no idea'
Ben Affleck is reintroducing the world to Se?or Affleck.
Affleck reminded everyone of his Spanish fluency while promoting the sports drama “Air” earlier this week. During an interview on Spanish radio network Cadena SER, Affleck spoke at length about the film, which he directed and starred in, in near-perfect Spanish.
While the actor has previously spoken about his fluency in Spanish, stunned viewers have taken to social media to share their shock at Affleck’s command of the language.
“Ben Affleck speaking Spanish is absolutely terrifying,” Sophia Rivka Rossi wrote on Twitter.
“I had no idea Ben Affleck was *this* fluent in Spanish ???” user @OwennnThomas tweeted.

“My mind cannot retain the info that Ben Affleck speaks amazing Spanish,” user @carliemcguire wrote on Twitter. “I’m surprised every time.”
Despite the internet’s collective astonishment, Affleck hasn’t kept his Spanish proficiency a secreto.
During a March 2020 appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” the actor spoke about how he first learned Spanish as a teenager while shooting a television series in Mexico. Affleck said his daughter Violet's growing fluency in the language inspired him to brush up on his Spanish-speaking skills.
“I don’t mind that I can’t do your math homework," Affleck told Clarkson of his daughter. "But you are not going be better at Spanish than me.”
