Ben Stiller Jokes “I Wish I Was Black” At Kamala Harris Fundraiser
Ben Stiller may have said the quiet part out loud. During a recent virtual fundraiser, Comics for Kamala Harris, the legendary jokester, joined the event and donated $150,000 to the cause. He then explained why he was backing the Harris and Tim Walz ticket, speaking to the former’s display of “empathy” and loves how she actually “[acts] like a human being.”
Stiller showed gratitude to the Democratic party, which found a way to energize young and old voters alike while aiming to put someone “decent” in the White House. But before he departed, he exited the event with an interesting joke about white Jewish men.
“I’m here because I’m so genuinely excited about the potential to actually win this election,” he said. “What’s happened in the last couple of weeks—the turning of the tide—that Vice President Harris could actually win this thing if we all just rally around and take advantage of this incredible energy that’s happening.”

“She’s also a historic candidate,” the actor added. “It’s going to be the first woman president, and that’s incredibly exciting. She’s Indian, she’s Black, she’s everything. You can be more than one thing, it’s incredible. I’m Jewish and Irish… I wish I was Black, every white Jewish guy wishes he was Black. You know, get out there and vote and donate and take advantage.”
Despite the Meet the Parents entertainer’s “joke,” the Zoom event concluded with half a million dollars raised for the Harris/Walz campaign. Over $100,000 of this sum was raised in the first 20 minutes of the event, per CNN reporter Elizabeth Wagmeister.
Along with Ben Stiller, other comedians who made appearances at the Zoom link include Tiffany Haddish, Jon Hamm, Kathy Griffin, Patton Oswalt, Rosie O’Donnell, Tiffany Haddish, Nick Offerman, John Stamos, and more.
