Benny The Butcher thanks patient fans ahead of 'Everybody Can't Go' album
Since it was announced back in February 2022, Griselda and Black Soprano Family (BSF) fans alike have been waiting patiently for Benny The Butcher’s Everybody Can’t Go album, his first under Def Jam Records. On Sunday (Oct. 22), the Buffalo talent responded to a supporter who let him know how hungry the masses are for a new body of work.
“Rappers be droppin’ albums when nobody asked for ’em, so I appreciate the anticipation from y’all,” he tweeted regarding the project, which he once again confirmed would be produced by both Hit-Boy and The Alchemist.
Back in August, Benny took to social media to explain why Everybody Can’t Go was delayed. “My album ain’t coming out tonight or tomorrow,” he said at the time. “Just know I wasn’t as ready as I thought I was. Just know when you hear my s**t, it’s gonna be better than all this other s**t you’ve been hearing all year.”
Everybody Can’t Go will follow the fourth installment of the critically acclaimed Tana Talk series, which dropped in 2022 with 12 tracks and additional features from Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, 38 Spesh, Diddy, Boldy James, Stove God Cooks, and J. Cole, the last of whom appeared on the viral hit “Johnny P’s Caddy.” Since then, Benny and his BSF collective liberated Long Live DJ Shay and teamed up with Struggle Mike for IYKYK. Benny could also be heard verbally sparring on cuts like DJ Drama’s “Forever,” Maxo Kream’s “FOOTBALL HEADS,” G Herbo’s “Real Rap,” French Montana’s “RZA,” and Curren$y’s “Stingray.”
In related news, Benny decided to take rap critics to task in a short clip that was shared last week. “Stop tryna always give y’all opinion ’cause you n**gas is not Stephen A. Smith,” Benny said in reference to the veteran sports analyst. “Respectfully though. It’s like, enjoy the music. Motherf**kers don’t enjoy the music no more. They just critique the music.”
