Top 5 Moments of Episode 4:
1. Camp Life: The funniest moment this season was Solomon “Sol” Yi’s reaction to Jerome “Rome” Cooney’s idol and the blindside. He seemed very calm, yet Rome bragged to the camera like he had this in the bag. It is week four sir, pace yourself. Meanwhile at Gata, Sam Phalen had the best game plan and did his best Drake impression. Sierra Wright‘s fear that their perceived romantic relationship could result in trouble was also comical. Calm down, this is not “Bachelor in Paradise.” At Tuku, Sue Smey had an emotional moment as Gabe Ortis continued to simultaneously forge a relationship with her and use her to get info, blissfully unaware that she is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Her discovery of the Beware Advantage was fun to watch play out with the blood red paint being splashed. You might say that she was almost caught red-handed!
2. Clash of the Titans: With Sol and Rome both on the hunt for a new immunity idol, they clashed more than before, complete with a double dose of sarcasm. Honestly, Rome really came across as the biggest jerk on the planet and placed a huge target on his back. This ended with Genevieve Mushaluk opting to view this as a potential opportunity for her game.
3. Immunity on the Line: The audible reaction to Aysha Welch being voted out was surprising, but even more shocking was the return of the chickens as a reward. This challenge seemed straight out of “Squid Game.” The usual challenge beasts shined, but Sam and Sol impressed me the most. In the end, the puzzle proved to be the ultimate equalizer and Rome failed miserably, costing valuable time. In the end, Gata and Tuku emerged victorious, sending Lavo back to tribal council with Rome as the biggest target.
4. Another Journey: Gata opted to send Andy, Christine “Teeny” Chirichillo, and Caroline Vidmar on the next journey. On paper that was an interesting trio. “Can we take some time to chat?” asked Caroline, who prompted both of her fellow castaways to spill their guts. With not only an advantage on the line but the loss of all their votes if nobody was willing to have a little trust in one another, it was a bit tense until Teeny opted to, completely unaware of what was going on at camp. The new advantage was an Amulet Idol with potentially far reaching repercussions — and not active until all three holders are together on one beach. This could alter the course of the season.
5. A Torch is Snuffed: Rome noted that he could play his steal a vote advantage to prevent Sol from voting, which felt downright cruel. He doubled down on this by basically threatening Sol with said advantage in hand, demanding Sol’s shot-in-the-dark. Kishan Patel noted that the tribe could blindside this wannabe “Survivor” godfather. Genevieve changed her mind and ratted out the plan to Rome, complicating things. Rome opted to steal Kishan’s vote, giving himself two votes. In the end, Kishan was voted out, and his grand plan went up in flames.
