The best part of the Met Gala was Frances McDormand dancing in her epic outfit
You may have seen Frances McDormand in photos taken at the Met Gala.
Or maybe you didn’t actually see her because, well, that headpiece was something.
According to various media outlets, the “insanely dramatic” and “wild” look led to her stealing the show at the event, which is kind of a big deal considering there were some other memorable show-stealers there like Rihanna, Madonna, and some celebs whose names didn’t end in –nna.
Even members of the NYPD needed a little of McDormand, alongside Valentino designer Pierpaolo Piccioli, and her headpiece in their lives:

But Frances. Our favorite “inclusion rider”-promoting powerhouse, who has a shiny new Oscar for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (well, after it was briefly stolen), shocked a lot of people with her over-the-top Valentino look. She’s generally not an over-the-top woman, which we know from the fact that, until recently, her wedding ring was second-hand from husband Joel Coen’s first wife. (She didn’t think it should go to waste.) So the outfit was a fun change.
Even more fun, however, was to watch Frances dance in that outfit. Prior to Met Gala, this is about how much we had seen her dance.
Then Vogue posted this incredible video of her getting “funky” in her “out-of-this-world” ensemble with Valentino designer Pierpaolo Piccioli amid a backdrop of … nude paintings. The dance party was set to the song “Where’s Your Head At?” by Basement Jaxx, which was especially cheeky considering we could barely see hers.

Well, hello there, Frances.
Look at her go, working the room.
Seriously — look at her.
Yeah, you.
Get it, Frances.
And… she’s out.
McDormand didn’t have the headpiece on the whole night. A Donald Glover greeting got her to take it off.
And at one point she photobombed John Boyega’s video, and it was sans headpiece.

Though our favorite photos of her from the night, for sure, were ones where she had it on. Because she was clearly having so much fun with it.
Yep, she’s in here somewhere — and maybe poking Anne Hathaway with that contraption, based on the expression on Anne’s face:
Frances. Anne. Adut. Thank You. Frances McDormand @annehathaway @adutakech

May there be many more headpieces in Frances’s future — and even more dancing.
