Another month has come and gone, which means it's time for a new roundup of the best new songs and albums dropping in September 2024. Thorughout June, July, and August, artists have been embracing the brat summer lifestyle and putting out bangers to get the crowds moving but summer is now in the rearview mirror and we are all all looking forward to fall.

To usher in September, many K-pop acts, new and veteran, are releasing new projects. EXO member Baekhyun is back with his fourth Korean-language solo album, TWICE's Tzuyu is making her debut as a soloist, RIIZE are celebrating their first anniversary, and newcomers MEOVV are ready to shake up the scene.

There are also plenty of interesting collaborations bridging the gap between Korea and the West, like Megan Thee Stallion feat. RM of BTS or LE SSERAFIM feat. PinkPantheress. On American and British soil, collabs also abound, with the likes of Victoria Monét and Usher and Central Cee and Raye joining forces in new tracks. But why tell you when you can just listen? Demi Lovato, “You’ll be OK, Kid”

Teen Vogue's September 2024 cover star, Demi Lovato, has officially released the poignant single “You’ll be OK, Kid” to accompany their directorial debut, Child Star. The Lovato-helmed documentary hits Hulu on September 17.

Kendrick Lamar, untiled new track

Following a slew of Drake disses earlier this year, Kendrick Lamar has released a new untitled song fans have dubbed “Watch The Party Die” via Instagram. The new song comes just off the heels of Lamar's announcement as the 2025 SuperBowl's half time show performer and criticizes the current state of hip-hop music.

Shawn Mendes, “Nobody Knows”

Shawn Mendes debuted his new single “Nobody Knows” at the 2024 VMAs ahead of the release of his self-titled album in October. The slow-tempo ballad arrives as speculation around his alleged love triangle with Sabrina Carpenter and Camila Cabello reaches an all-time high.

Arca and Tokischa, “Chama”

Venezuela-born, Barcelona-based Arca has teamed up with Dominican sensation Tokischa for the new song “Chama." Mixing Jersey Club-inspired beats with Arca's trademark experimental approach and Tokischa's NSFW lyrics, “Chama” borrows elements from reggaeton while taming its buoyancy.

Adéla, “Homewrecked”

The Debut: Dream Academy contestant Adéla from Slovakia is making her debut as a soloist shortly after the release of Netflix's Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE with “Homewrecked,” produced by Liam Benayon, Riley Aki and Dylan Harrison. “The song is an over-the-top, pop fantasy version of my experience with infidelity in a family setting, of being young and hurting so deeply that I could kill," Adéla, who is credited as singer, songwriter, and vocal producer for the track, shared in a press email.

Lolo Zoua?, Please Hold

Lolo Zoua? is back with a two-song EP, Please Hold, featuring songs “UNHHH” and “jetlag,” featuring her signature honeyed vocals and R&B-infused pop flair. While “UNHHH" is fully in English, “jetlag" dabbles into the Franglais that defined her earlier offerings.

Tate McRae, “It’s ok I’m ok”

After channeling Britney Spears at the VMAs 2024, Tate McRae is further tapping into her Y2K pop star psyche with her new single “It’s ok I’m ok" and its accompanying music video, which could have very easily come out in the early aughts.

Keshi, Requiem

Houston native Keshi has released his long-anticipated sophomore studio album, Requiem, complete with 13 equally heartwrenching and groovy songs. “I named the album after a song on it that’s dedicated to a friend and collaborator, who passed away just over a couple of years ago now,” Keshi shared in a press release. “In classical music, a requiem is a piece that you play when laying someone to rest, and this whole record, the culmination of his and our efforts, is my way of doing that for his memory."

flowerovlove, "erase u"

17-year-old Joyce Cissé, best known by her stage moniker flowerovlove, is back with new single “erase u,” taking the age-old forbidden crush story as lyrical inspiration. Co-penned by Skyler Stonestreet and produced by Russell Chell, the song is the first offering of her upcoming EP Ache in My Tooth. “‘erase u’ is a hyperbolic crush anthem, where a crush is so delusional you’d die for that person and give anything to just breathe near them. Like, ‘I love you, but we just met.’ ‘erase u’ is when a crush becomes an addiction," flowerovlove shared.

Snow Wife, "Crazy"

Following the release of the hit track “American Horror Show" and her debut EP, Queen Degenerate, Snow Wife is back with another high-octane single, “Crazy. " Featuring her trademark unfiltered lyrics and rhythmic frenzy, the unapologetic anthem from the Houston native feels like an open invitation to just dance.

Week of September 6

MEOVV, “MEOW”

After a slew of teasers, K-pop girl group MEOVV are entering the scene claws out with new fierce single “MEOW." The quintet — featuring members Sooin, Gawon, Anna, Narin, and Ella — is officially debuting under YG subsidiary THEBLACKLABEL, home to Rosé and helmed by long-time BLACKPINK producer TEDDY. “MEOW" features writing credits by TEDDY, Claudia Valentina, Zikai, Billy Walsh, and Vince. The track is produced by 24 and Jumpa.

Megan Thee Stallion feat. RM, “Neva Play”

After collaborating with BTS in 2021 for a remix of “Butter," Megan Thee Stallion has linked up with the group's leader and rapper RM for new song “Neva Play,” which comes accompanied by an official music video heavy on animation — as expected from the anime queen.

Baekhyun, “Pineapple Slice”

EXO member Baekhyun's fourth Korean-language album, Hello, World: The 4th Mini Album, the first under his company INB100. Loosely inspired by Wong Kar-wai's Chungking Express, title track “Pineapple Slice” lead the project with a music video filmed in the streets of Barcelona.

Central Cee and Raye, “Moi”

Central Cee has linked up with fellow Brit Raye for new song “Moi," mixing English and French lyrics that are already breaking the internet — for better or worse.

Tzuyu, “Run Away”

Tzuyu is the latest TWICE member to go solo with new mini album abouTZU, featuring title track “Run Away" with a retro K-pop flair. The project, which spans six songs, also features collaborations with the likes of Peniel from BtoB and indie artist pH-1 in the form of English duet “Heartbreak in Heaven” and the playful “Lazy Baby.”

Victoria Monét and Usher, “SOS (Sex On Sight)”

Victoria Monét and Usher might have just given us the sultrier song of the year with “SOS (Sex On Sight)." The two singer have combined their honeyed chords to maximize their R&B prowess in the golden-stained single which needs no further explanation.

RIIZE, “Combo”

RIIZE are celebrating their first anniversary as a group with new song “Combo,” off RIIZING: Epilogue - The 1st Mini Album. Mixing elements or pop and rock, the group charts into new territory vocally with “Combo" while staying true to their reflective style.

Bleachers, A Stranger Desired

A play on Strange Desire, their debut studio album from 2014, Jack Antonoff-led Bleachers have released new album A Stranger Desired a decade later featuring rerecordings of the original album's 11 tracks for its first big anniversary.

Fred Again, ten days

British electronic music producer Fred Gibson, best known by his moniker Fred Again, has released his fourth studio album, ten days, featuring his trademark experiential and experimental approach across 20 tracks featuring collaborators galore, including Sampha, Chika, Anderson .Paak, Skrillex, and many other.

Camila Cabello, “Godspeed”

Part of C,XOXO (Magic City Edition), the deluxe version of C,XOXO, Camila Cabello has released four new songs, including the introspective “Godspeed," juxtaposing a ballad core with intrusive sonic elements, keeping the deceptively maximalist of C,XOXO going.

Halsey, “Ego”

Halsey has released the fourth single from their upcoming album, The Great Impersonator, slated for an October release. Inspired by ‘90s pop-rock, the singer has been teasing “Ego” for a while and it’s finally here with a music video starring Halsey opposite *checks notes* Halsey. Fitting for the project.

Flo Milli, “Wet Dreams”

If you are in need of a new NSFW R&B bop, look no further than Flo Milli's “Wet Dreams" featuring Coop and G.

LE SSERAFIM feat. PinkPantheress, “Crazy"

Just days after the release of their album Crazy on August 30, LE SSERAFIM surprised drop an alternative version of title track “Crazy” with Brit bedroom pop darling PinkPantheress and all we can say is the girls are definitely girling.

Jhayco, Le Clique: Vida Rockstar (X)

Puerto Rican reggaetón sensation Jahyco, formerly known as Jhay Cortez, has put out a new three-part, 29-song album called Le Clique: Vida Rockstar (X). Recorded between Paris, Madrid, Puerto Rico, Miami, Los Angeles, and more, Le Clique: Vida Rockstar (X) boasts collaborations by DJ Khaled, Eladio Carrión, Peso Pluma, Bryan Meyers, Quevedo, and more.

The Driver Era, “You Keep Me Up at Night”

The Driver Era, composed of brother duo Rocky and Ross Lynch, are tapping into '80s sensibilities with new disco-infused single “You Keep Me Up at Night.” The understated banger arrives just in time for their new X Girlfriend Tour, which kicks off in Portugal and Spain later this month.

xikers, “?? (Witch)”

K-pop group xikers are welcoming spooky season early with new Halloween-inspired single “?? (Witch)," off their fourth mini album House of Tricky: Watch out, an ongoing series that already includes Doorbell Ringing, How to Play, and Trial and Error. Equal parts serious and tongue-in-cheek, “?? (Witch)" showcases the group's rap prowess more than ever before.
