8 best TV shows streaming March 9-15 on Netflix, Apple TV Plus and more
We update this round-up of new TV shows every single week, and I don't remember when we last had such a diverse and mixed-up line-up as this week — whether you want a ranching reality show, historical or political documentary, crime thriller or comedy drama, we've got you covered.
This week, we're looking at new shows being added to any of the major streaming services between Saturday, March 9 and Friday, March 15, and let me tell you there are quite a few! So much so that I've had to extend the usual count up to 8, just to avoid omitting any major shows!
To qualify for this list, a new TV show has to have the first episode of a new season, or its entire season, arrive on a streaming service (so no Invincible season 2 part 2, unfortunately!) Returning shows are allowed, as are cable ones if they arrive on streaming a day or two after their broadcast premiere.
The US-only streaming services are debuting new Originals in force this week, but there are still options if you live in the UK, across a wide range of streamers. Use our guide to the best streaming deals to find a new way to watch.
Let's find you something to watch!
The McBee Dynasty: The Real American Cowboys
Peacock ranching reality series arrives on Monday, March 11
Ranchers in TV tend to be Yellowstone-style cowboys, so it's novel to see a new reality show that looks at the modern side of big-business farm managing.
The McBee Dynasty looks at the McBee family, which owns a large ranching corporation that's on the verge of becoming a billion-dollar company. This reality show follows the father and his three sons, all of whom are vying to take the lead when their patriarch retires, but this leader seems more preoccupied with philandery than his lineage.
All episodes of The McBee Dynasty: The Real American Cowboys come to Peacock at the same time on Monday, March 11. There's no word on a UK release for the reality series.
Turning Point: The Bomb and the Cold War
Netflix history docuseries arrives on Tuesday, March 12
If you're a fan of Netflix's historical docuseries, then its new one might be your next binge watch.
Turning Point: The Bomb and the Cold War tells the story of the Cold War, all the way from the bombing of Hiroshima in World War Two right up until the recent invasion of Ukraine. It has plenty of interviews as it looks at the changes in geopolitical relations over many decades.
A nine-part series, Turning Point will land in its entirety on Netflix on Tuesday, March 11.
Bandidos
Netflix Mexican adventure show debuts on Wednesday, March 13
A new action and adventure show from Mexico brings some treasure-hunting fun to screens.
The show is about three bandits, or "skilled misfits" as Netflix refers to them, called Miguel, Lilí and Wilson. They discover an old map, and follow it around the Caribbean to try and find a lost treasure.
All episodes of Bandidos come to Netflix on Wednesday, March 13.
The Girls on the Bus
Max political drama debuts on Thursday, March 14
HBO's latest political series isn't a comedy like others of its recents, but that doesn't mean it won't be funny at times.
The Girls on the Bus is about four women who all cover a presidential election in a bid to boost their respective journalistic careers. However they find that they need to work together in order to cover the election best — and simply solve their own problems too.
The first two episodes of The Girls on the Bus arrive on Max on Thursday, March 14, with subsequent episodes arriving weekly from then. There's no word on a UK release.
Apples Never Fall
Peacock drama series debuts on Thursday, March 14
An all-star cast including Annette Bening, Sam Neill and Alison Brie rounds out one of the most anticipated shows of March 2024.
Apples Never Fall is about a happy family: Stan and Joy, and their four adult children who live away from home, who find their lives turned upside down when a young woman shows up at the family home, which precedes the matriarch disappearing. What's happened, and was the family really as happy as they pretended?
All seven episodes of Apples Never Fall land on Peacock at once on Thursday, March 14. There's no word on a UK release as yet.
Justice, USA
HBO incarceration documentary arrives on Thursday, March 14
HBO has given relatively little information about its new documentary Justice, USA, only saying that it's "a 360-degree view of the criminal justice system".
What we do know is that it looks at the Nashville incarceration system, with interviews from inmates, workers and those who've had to see their loved ones go through the state's justice system.
A six part docuseries, two parts of Justice, USA will come out each week from Thursday, March 14.
Manhunt
Apple TV Plus historical drama arrives on Friday, March 15
One of Apple TV Plus' several upcoming shows to look at important events in American history, Manhunt starts us off with a dark one: the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
Specifically, Manhunt is about the hunt for John Wikles Booth after his assassination of the US president, as a conspiracy thriller and a historical drama all wrapped up in one.
Manhunt debuts on Friday, March 15 with its first two episodes. Subsequent episodes will land weekly until Friday, April 19.
Chicken Nugget
Netflix Korean comedy series arrives on Friday, March 15
When a man invents a mysterious machine and then accidentally turns his daughter into a chicken nugget, he has to team up with one of his interns to work out how to turn her back.
That's the premise of Netflix's newest Korean show Chicken Nugget, a strange-sounding new comedy series that the streamer likely hopes you'll find endearing instead of exasperating.
All of Chicken Nugget arrives on the streamer on Friday, March 15.
