What do a soon-to-be princess and a Real Housewife have in common?

Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel revealed that she once went on a date with Meghan Markle’s ex-husband, Trevor Engelson. In an interview on Australia’s Kyle & Jackie O show, the reality star revealed that while she’s currently single, she had an interesting rendezvous a while back.

“I met this guy as a romantic interest, his name is Trevor,” Frankel said. “So I met him in Chicago and we were supposed to go out and I ended up seeing him one time and he’d been texting me, he’s a producer in L.A.”

She continued, “He told me that he was married before. He’s divorced [now], he was married to this girl named Meghan Markle from the TV show Suits.”

Months later, Markle’s relationship with Prince Harry went public and Frankel had quite the reaction, telling Engleson, “Holy s***, your ex is going to be a princess!”

Romantically, things didn’t work out for Engelson and Frankel, but the two might team up professionally. “He pitched me a TV show idea to produce together about a bunch of businesswomen, which I think we are going to do together,” she stated.

So why didn’t this turn into a love connection? “He looks a little bit like my ex which scares me,” admitted Bethenny. “We bypassed the romantics and went into the business. But I don’t know there’s something there, there’s something salacious about doing a TV project with Meghan Markle’s ex.”

Markle and Engelson were married for nearly two years before splitting in 2013. She will marry for the second time on May 19 as Markle and Prince Harry will say “I do” at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
