'You are a betrayer of women': Celebrities react to Sen. Susan Collins's support of Brett Kavanaugh
Sen. Susan Collins broke hearts Friday in Hollywood and elsewhere around the country with the announcement that she will vote for President Trump’s nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. In a lengthy speech on the Senate floor, the Republican from Maine ended speculation that she would dissent from the rest of her party and block the nomination.
While the official vote isn’t expected until Saturday, Kavanaugh now has a clear path to a lifetime appointment on the highest court in the land, despite the sexual misconduct allegations that have been brought against him by Christine Blasey Ford and two other women.
