Betty White and Joan Rivers' hysterical interview on 'Tonight Show' goes viral
Betty White found a sister in hilarity in comedian Joan Rivers.
In the wake of the "Golden Girls" and "Mary Tyler Moore Show" star's death, an appearance White made on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" in 1983, featuring Rivers as guest host, has gone viral online. The interview showed the two women in their element, trading snappy quips throughout their conversation.
White poked fun at Rivers' People magazine cover at the time.
"You would think you were the only cover girl in town," White said to Rivers. "Did you know I'm a cover girl?"
White then pulled out a Kennel Review magazine cover, which featured her posing with a dog.

"And if you dare say, 'Who's that other b--- on the cover?' I will never speak to you again for as long as I live," White said, followed by a playful clarification. "I am the one in the pink jacket."
Rivers mockingly pointed out that White's cover was not from a major publication, to which White responded: "Not a major publication? If you have dogs, I tell you that's a very major publication."
"For your career, though, that's a good start," Rivers replied.

But White didn't let Rivers have the last laugh when Rivers critiqued White's all-navy blue ensemble that she wore on the show.
"I asked you to come on tonight and look glamorous, and look what you showed up in," Rivers said.

Without missing a beat, White defended her fashion choice and also took a shot at Rivers' flashy style.
"I like to think understated is a lot classier than all this other stuff hanging out all over; well, it's just ridiculous," White said. "The little tassels on everything: Can you get them all going in opposite directions?"
Romance was also a topic of conversation for the blonde dynamos, with Rivers teasing White about her love life.
"I bet you'd be funny on a date if you ever had one," Rivers said.
White played along, offering her own witty response: "Listen, I don't find the G-spot hard to find at all, it's a cinch. Any guy that touches me I say, 'Oh gee.' "
White and Rivers would later rekindle their sidesplitting chemistry in 2012, when Rivers guest starred on an episode of the TV Land sitcom "Hot in Cleveland," which White starred in.
