Beyoncé Gives Her First Print Interview Since 2013

Beyoncé is seemingly everywhere and nowhere at once. Since 2013 she has won three Grammys, received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV VMAs, and appeared on the cover of countless magazines. She has not, however, given a formal, sit-down interview. (Beyoncé didn’t even give an interview for her coveted Vogue September issue cover story.) That is, until now.

Beyoncé appears on newest cover of Beat Magazine, and in addition to posing for a gorgeous photo shoot in the Hamptons, Yoncé also gave an interview to the British publication.
She doesn’t drop any major bombshells, but she does reveal that fear is what keeps her motivated.
“What does fear taste like?” she says. “Success. I have accomplished nothing without a little taste of fear in my mouth.”

She also talks about which Beyoncé era would be her favorite Halloween costume: “Destiny’s Child Survivor era with the army fatigues. Or maybe Bootylicious with the gold tooth and pink tips in my hair.”
We also learn that Bey likes to sing Kim Burrell’s “Holy Ghost” in the shower and that Fetty Wap’s “Jugg” is the last song she had stuck in her head. When she’s not taking a 22-day vegan challenge, Beyoncé prefers extra tomato sauce and jalepe?os on her pizza. (Way to stick to your Texas roots, Bey.)
