Beyoncé poses as Betty Davis for Halloween, sparking speculation about a rock album
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter transformed into Betty Davis for Halloween, and the costume choice has fans wondering if the singer was dropping hints about an upcoming project.
The "Cowboy Carter" creator shared a post to her Instagram early Friday morning, posing as the funk-rock diva for Halloween. In the photos Beyoncé rocks a black and white-printed bodysuit, white ankle boots and red lipstick with her hair in a luscious afro.
In the caption Beyoncé wrote "Betty Davis in my bones," which references a lyric from her 2024 song "Bodyguard," in which she sings "Davis in my bones." She added an electric guitar emoji for good measure.
As fans know, Beyoncé released her eighth studio album "Cowboy Carter" March 29. The country album has already made history on multiple fronts, shifted the entire music industry and put a spotlight on Black country artists.
In July 2022 Beyoncé released her seventh studio album "Renaissance." The project earned her four Grammys in 2023 including best dance/electronic music album, making her the most decorated artist in the awards' history. She later announced the album was the first part of a three-act project, making "Cowboy Carter" Act II.
After releasing albums in the country and dance categories, there has been growing speculation that the last project in the trilogy could be a rock album.
In the comments, fans were quick to speculate about the costume choice. One user wrote, "truly not prepared for act iii." Another said, "never beating the Act III rock allegations."
