Beyoncé popped out for the California Crown to continue the celebration of her newly released SirDavis Whiskey. While the annual event went down in Santa Anita, Calif., on Saturday (Sept. 28), Bey shared pictures from the event on Monday (Oct. 7) — CP timing, of course.

The singer’s carousel of photos showed the icon suited and booted in a grey suit, coordinated with a Black hat and Black-trimmed glasses. Bey’s collection of flicks showed off the horse racing event from her perspective, complete with a picture cheesing alongside her husband, JAY-Z, and shots featuring a glass of that SirDavis.

Shaboozey could also be seen flashing a smile and standing next to Bey, which he describes as “different.” Cher, dressed in a shimmery Black ensemble, popped out and snagged a flick with cowgirl Carter, too.

Bey’s SirDavis and Cécred were listed as two of the various partners for the California Crown event, as per the official website. And while the event featured high-octane horse racing, the Cali Crown featured “immersive” live performances from a litany of artists. Shaboozey, Lil Yachty, Gryffin, and others performed during the exhibition for “a special VIP trackside experience.”

Speaking of Shaboozey, he and country music upstart BRELAND recently spoke to VIBE about Beyoncé’s groundbreaking Cowboy Carter. BRELAND asserted that more “needs to be done” after the album was infamously shut out from the Country Music Awards—despite being one of the year’s best-reviewed albums.

“As far as the CMAs are concerned, I think ultimately, country music, we are evolving within the genre, but there’s still a lot of work to be done,” he added. “I don’t understand how any album that sells as many copies as that album sold doesn’t get any looks when people whose first real big looks from that project are even nominated on this for the CMAs. I do feel like she should have gotten something, but I also don’t think that she did this for the awards. I think she did this for the culture.”

While some people think Bey’s album was shut out because it wasn’t “country enough,” Boozey opined that the work was very much a country project. The “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” singer doubled down and later stated that he would actually want to see more “innovative” projects like Bey’s.

“Yeah, it had to be considered country. That’s what I—Even when I made a tweet the other day after the CMAs decided not to nominate her, I’m like yeah, this is a very innovative work… If anything, that’s what I would like to see more of in the country, is more people taking risks,” the Virginia native said.
