Beyonce becomes most Grammy-nominated woman ever

Along with her many regal names, Queen B can now add queen of the Grammys to her long list of titles.

With today’s nominations for the 2015 Grammy Awards, Beyoncé has become the most nominated female performer in the show’s history. With 52 total nominations so far, Beyoncé today passed the previous record holder, Dolly Parton, who has earned 46 nominations.

This year, Beyoncé was nominated for Best Urban Album and Best Surround Sound Album, “Drunk in Love” was nominated for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance, and Beyoncé & Jay Z: On The Run Tour was nominated for “Best Music Film.”

Beyonce still has a ways to go, however, before she can become the most Grammy-nominated performer ever. Quincy Jones currently holds that record, with 79 total nominations. Her nominations today do make her the seventh most nominated overall artist, slightly ahead of David Foster and within spitting distance of Kanye West, who has 53 nominations.

She also is the 20th most successful artist overall, having won 17 Grammys. The honor of woman with the most Grammys, however, falls to Alison Krauss, with 27 awards.
