'BH90210' finally premiered and fans are both crying and confused
Beverly Hills, 90210 fans have been waiting for BH90210, the new reboot of the beloved 1990s TV series, and it finally premiered Wednesday night. However, what started off as a highly anticipated night of nostalgia quickly turned into confusion over the unconventional storyline, which some fans just couldn't wrap their heads around.

The new series brings back original cast members Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Tori Spelling. The twist is that they are playing themselves in a heightened version of reality, inspired by their real lives and relationships, as they go through the process of launching a reboot of the original series.
It's a little meta, and the true fans actually loved it.
If you didn’t watch 90210 back in the day then I’m pretty sure you won’t have a clue what’s going on! 😜 It’s pretty dang funny all the little Easter eggs they are giving. But I sure do miss my Luke Perry!! 😭😭😭 #BH90210 pic.twitter.com/9gUgNz6O37

Ahead of the series premiere, Yahoo sat down with Ian Ziering, who explained the reboot's unorthodox plot and why it's awesome.
“I think it would be better said that the characters are more sensationalized, because there is a good smattering of our real selves woven into the fabric, where it’s not on the nose, it’s kinda on the cheek, that’s how … we get away with it,” Ziering says. “But it is scripted. The stories are heightened, but they are our authentic voices coming through.” Ziering also talked about how each of them had a lot of say in their characters' arcs.
"They're all very organic to our own personal lives. This is an original idea. This is kinda hard to come by in Hollywood," said Ziering.
It was also a sad night as the premiere paid tribute to fellow cast member Luke Perry, who died from a stroke in March of this year. Fans were in tears over the tribute as the final scene of the episode really hit us all in the feels.
