‘Big Brother 26’ episode 22 recap: Who won the Week 7 HOH on September 1? [LIVE BLOG]
Heading into the 22nd episode of “Big Brother 26,” Tucker Des Lauriers had just been evicted from the house by a 5-to-3 vote over Angela Murray. That left just 10 people still in the game, and all of them — aside from outgoing Head of Household T’kor Clottey — were preparing to take part in the Week 7 HOH competition. So who ended up winning this all-important power, and which three houseguests did they nominate for eviction?

9:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘Big Brother’!” In the 21st episode, Tucker, Angela and Makensy battled for safety in the A.I. Arena, where Tucker inexplicably made his puzzle backwards (!) and Makensy eked out her second victory. The house then had a mad scramble session, with Chelsie leading the charge to eliminate challenge beast Tucker from the competition. At the live vote, Tucker received five votes to Angela’s three votes, so Tucker was evicted. He told Julie, “I knew when people got the shot to take me out they were going to take it,” and he was right. But enough chit-chat about last time — it’s time to find out will win the Week 7 HOH!
9:01 p.m. – Emotions were high following the eviction of Tucker with half the house in tears and then Chelsie’s side of the house quietly celebrating a successful flip of power. It was an especially pivotal moment for Chelsie because Tucker orchestrated the decimation of her former alliance and the evictions of Cedric and Brooklyn that left her on the outside of a new alliance.
9:06 p.m. – In a moment of vulnerability, Rubina admitted to T’Kor that she loves Tucker even after only six weeks. Despite the two of them knowing how big of a threat a showmance would be, Rubina said that they went forward with their feelings anyway.
9:08 p.m. – While everyone else was crying, Quinn was holding inside his excitement for his “evil, nefarious” success at getting his nemesis out of the game. Then, despite saving herself in the A.I. Arena, Makensy was getting increasingly nervous that a second win in that comp would raise her profile as the new “comp beast” in the house.
9:10 p.m. – Kimo and T’Kor understood that the other side of the house made the best move for their own games, but having seen Tucker as a shielf for their alliance, they also knew that they’d have to win comps themselves now in order to protect their positions in the game.
9:15 p.m. – To determine the holder of the next seat of power, the houseguests competed in the infamous chicken coop comp “What Came First.” The first player to maneuver eggs up a fence and through an obstacle ramp and knock down the letters HOH would become the next head of household. There was also a mini-comp to avoid being the first two drop an egg because the three players that do would become the have nots for the week. The first three players to drop an egg were Quinn, Kimo, and Makensy. Angela decided to hang out by holding one of her eggs until the three have nots were decided simply to avoid having to eat slop for another week.
9:21 p.m. – The first player to knock down one of the letters was Cam at a time when every other player could get to the ramp, but failed to hit a letter. Makensy, Leah, Kimo, Chelsie and Quinn all caught up to Cam before he could hit a second. Then Makensy, Quinn, Leah and Kimo all got their second letter.
9:28 p.m. – Kimo and Quinn had an egg on their ramp at the same time, but Quinn’s more aggressive strategy helped him get the egg down quicker and successfully knocked down his third letter to secure the win. Most everyone in the house was feeling good about Quinn’s win except Rubina who perhaps is the only one that hasn’t developed an alliance of some sort with him and was previously nominated during his deepfake week. Even though they just worked together to vote Tucker out, Makensy wasn’t convinced that she wouldn’t be someone Quinn uses as a pawn or a target.
9:31 p.m. – Quinn’s first conversation was with Chelsie where he disclosed that he’s definitely putting Angela on the block and probably Rubina as well. He also mentioned that he wants to “build something” with himself, her, Cam, and T’Kor “for sure.” He wondered if they should include Makensy and they both agreed that they should, especially as a way of “rewarding” those bold enough to make the move against Tucker.
9:38 p.m. – In his conversation with Quinn, Joseph did his best to do “damage control,” but Quinn was not worried about Joseph and believes that he can go deep into the game with him on the low. Angela suggested to Quinn that it might be time for people who haven’t been nominated yet to go on the block, but he didn’t see any scenario where he doesn’t pay her back for constantly throwing him under the bus. Rubina is someone that Quinn can’t trust in the game because he’s “given her a thousand reasons” to want to send him home if she ever had power. When it came to T’Kor, Quinn was at least grateful to her for not lying to him during her reign and so he was willing to hear her out about Makensy being a decent choice for his third nominee. When Quinn mentioned Kimo as a possible nominee, T’Kor was blindsided by why he would consider breaking up The Visionaries in that way. Later, Kimo told Quinn that he’s tried to protect him every week, but that upset Quinn because when they left him out of the Cedric vote it put him in harm’s way with Tucker.
9:49 p.m. – T’Kor told Rubina and Kimo that if Quinn puts any of the three them up on the block then she will be done working with him going forward. Still, Kimo understood that Quinn probably feels like they all chose Tucker over him in the last few weeks and that could fuel his decision for noms. Later in a second conversation with Quinn, Kimo admitted that going up as a pawn scares him because he doesn’t know where a lot of people’s heads are at. Deciding between Kimo and Makensy was stressful for Quinn because it would come down to protecting an old alliance or building a new one.
9:55 p.m. – At the nomination ceremony, Quinn revealed the digital portraits of Angela, Rubina and Kimo as his nominees. He defended the decision by listing off all the names he’s been called and asked the house to respect his decision to go after his unnamed target of the week that he made obvious is Angela.
