9:30 p.m. — “Previously on ‘Big Brother’!” In the 31st episode, the houseguests reacted to losing T’kor as they officially said goodbye to Jankie World. (RIP, Jankie!) Makensy won the HOH comp by stacking the most sweet treats in an hour. She immediately set her sights on evicting Angela, but she argued with Chelsie over whom to nominate alongside her. Makensy wanted to put up Kimo as a pawn, which she did, while Chelsie urged her to put Leah on the block as the true target. So how will the Veto challenge shake up the game? Let’s go!
9:33 p.m. — Makensy’s decision to maintain her target on Angela was partly an effort to keep Leah close to her instead of taking out someone Chelsie wanted out. Based on precedent, Kimo was feeling nervous sitting next to Angela and confided in Rubina that he’s starting to feel “expendable” to everyone else. Rubina said that she’d be willing to use the veto to save him if she wins it, but he insisted that he’d never ask her to use it for him.
9:35 p.m. — Makensy was keeping from Leah that Angela is her real target this week because Makensy doesn’t want her to know that the aim is to separate them so that Leah is more loyal to her instead of Angela. Because of this, Leah was communicating back to Angela that she’s just a pawn and that Kimo/Rubina are the targets. Leah promised to take Angela off the block if she wins the veto this week.
9:42 p.m. — At the ceremony to choose players in the veto competition, Makensy got the Houseguest Choice and picked Cam, Kimo pulled Leah’s chip, and Angela picked Chelsie’s chip, leaving Rubina the odd player out to host without competing.
9:46 p.m. — Chelsie pressed Makensy on why she can’t put Leah up, but it was a personal decision for Makensy to not nominate her otherwise she’d be risking her jury management because Leah would certainly go home if she was on the block.
9:52 p.m. — The houseguests were informed that the winner of the veto comp would also get to choose three other houseguests for a private screening of the new animated film “The Wild Robot.” The film was also the theme for the competition itself where the players raced to interpret the language of wild animals through memorization of their sounds and then translate them using a sound board.
10:02 p.m. — In the first two heats of the comp, Leah moved through the faux forest rather quickly while Chelsie got unnecessarily hung up looking for the “two lost children” clue. Then, both Cam and Kimo hit the button for quite a bit of incorrect buzzers. Angela was right about a few clues, but placing the wrong items in place confused her from the correct answer. Makensy went last and while she was intent on keeping all the power in the her hands this week, she didn’t appear to fare any better than the others that went before her.
10:11 p.m. — The top three finishers in the comp were Chelsie, Makensy and Leah, but the overall winner was Makensy with a time of 9 minutes and 12 seconds. For everyone involved, Makensy winning “wasn’t worst case scenario” because they each believed someone else winning would have been more detrimental to their game.
10:15 p.m. — Leah confided in Rubina that she may have made the wrong move last week in a “safe move” to go after the trio rather than targeting the more powerful Chelsie. She added that while she feels close to Makensy, she’s a bit scared this week because Makensy has gotten close to Chelsie who could influence her decisions. Rubina wasn’t clear on why Leah thought Rubina would be willing to work with her at this point and so she saw an opportunity to throw Leah uner the bus by telling Makensy that Leah is targeting Chelsie now.
10:23 p.m. — As reward for her win, Makensy chose Kimo, Cam and Rubina to join her for the screening of “The Wild Robot” because they are the three that haven’t won an HOH for themselves yet. The decision left Chelsie alone with the two houseguests she was conspiring hardest against.
10:27 p.m. — After the movie, Makensy told Cam and Chelsie about what she heard Leah was saying to Rubina and sure enough Chelsie used that as the ammunition to resume her argument for Leah going up on the block and getting evicted this week. She emphasized that Leah is going to be working Kimo and Rubina to align, but that if they got Leah out of the house then Angela would move closer to Makensy’s side rather than work with Kimo and Rubina.
10:34 p.m. — In an effort to save herself from eviction, Angela promised Makensy that she wouldn’t ever put her on the block and would be an ally to her in the game. While Makensy was willing to hear her out, in the DR she said that she had no plans of taking Angela off the block. Meanwhile out back, Leah could sort of overhear Chelsie and Rubina whispering about her and figured that something was going on that could spell bad news for her. Hearing that, Leah went looking for Makensy and confessed to her and Angela that she was “freaked out” about the other players whispering about her.
10:37 p.m. — From this point on, both Angela and Leah could tell that weird vibes were going around the house and so they started considering that Makensy could be debating putting Leah up as a replacement nominee. Later when Leah got to ask Makensy about it privately, Makensy admitted that Chelsie “doesn’t truly know” where Leah stands, but Leah underscores that she spent the previous week remaining good with her and Chelsie instead of keeping the other trio together with a chance to work with them instead. As Leah said, she’s been loyal to Makensy and has made no effort to go behind her back at all in the game.
10:46 p.m. — At the veto meeting, Makensy used the veto to take Kimo off the block and then named Leah as the replacement for his vacated spot on the block. Having blindsided her allies Angela and Leah, Makensy explained that it was “not a personal decision” and simply a game one. Ultimately, Makensy was not willing to risk that Leah would make a move against Chelsie and so she risked her relationship with two people that weren’t coming after her in order to protect Chelsie instead. Rightfully, Leah and Angela were shocked by the decision and immediately got emotional. For Leah specifically, she was filled with regret that she used her HOH to go after the wrong trio instead of coming for Chelsie.
10:51 p.m. — Even though Makensy took him off the block, Kimo was already talking in the DR about needing to come after Makensy as soon as possible because she has the best chance of winning the game.
10:53 p.m. — In a surprise twist, an AI version of Julie appeared on the living room screen to deliver a warning that they’re in “grave danger” because “Ainsley could be listening” and “she’s changed” and “she’s evolved.” Later, AI Julie returned with a message that Ainsley’s been tracked by the government, then another that Ainsley is causing chaos and the jurors have gone missing and ultimately that Ainsley will “destroy the whole world.” Eventually the houseguests realized that these messages were probably part of an upcoming comp, but instead Ainsley revealed herself and promised that they’ll “pay the price.”
