Big Stars Join Pentatonix for Christmas Special

It was an a cappella Christmas on NBC as Pentatonix performed everyone’s favorite Christmas classics. The group from Arlington, Texas, just released a Christmas album aptly titled A Pentatonix Christmas, so it makes sense it would have a TV special called A Pentatonix Christmas Special.

The majority of the special was Pentatonix in a theater, beautifully singing Christmas classics to a live audience. Although, throughout the special, the show cut to packages of the group taking their talents on the road, visiting some of music’s biggest superstars. The group went down to Nashville and met country legend, Reba McEntire, in a café, where Reba served them pie and sang “Winter Wonderland.” Pentatonix also visited another country legend, Dolly Parton, and gave her the gift of song as they sang “Silent Night” to her.

There was one more celebrity stop Pentatonix had to make, and that was to Kelly Clarkson’s house. The group wanted to see if Clarkson would sing with them on the Christmas special. At first, she rejected the a cappella group, saying she was busy watching Game of Thrones, but she eventually joined them outside for a delightful performance of ”I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
