Bill Lawrence Insists Daughter Charlotte Isn't a Nepo Baby as He Says He Has 'No Connections' to Music Industry (Exclusive)
The 'Shrinking' creator's 24-year-old daughter released her debut EP in 2018
Bill Lawrence is so proud of his singer-daughter Charlotte Lawrence — but he had no help in her success as a musician.
The Shrinking creator, 55, spoke with PEOPLE exclusively at the premiere of season 2 of the series, saying that while he's loved watching his 24-year-old daughter become more and more successful, he hasn't been able to help her out at all as she's pursued her music career.
"This was so fun because I had a semblance of control. My wife and I have no connections in music, and she's been living in that world for so long," the proud dad says of Charlotte.

"We took the whole family to see her play at Radio City Music Hall like four months ago and I can't help her and I don't know anybody. And most of the people I met wear really shiny suits and I don't have any shiny suits."
"So to get to do this with her has been an absolute treat. I think she's a natural and it'll be even more fun when I'm watching her do it around town," he says of Charlotte, who is also currently starring in his Apple TV+ show Bad Monkey.
Lawrence shares his daughter with longtime wife and Shrinking star Christa Miller. The two are also parents to sons William and Henry.
In late August, Miller shared a video of her daughter Charlotte singing alongside Paul McCartney on her Instagram. The proud mom captured her daughter singing and dancing around on stage with The Beatles singer, writing a sweet tribute in her caption.
"Pretty sure @charlotteslawrence is having the best week ever? She’s staring in Bad Monkey on @appletv and last night she just casually pulled @paulmccartney on stage with her @chadsmithofficial + @thisiswatt," Miller wrote.
"Absolutely killing it. So proud of you Char!! ????."
