Billboard Music Awards: Taylor Swift and Drake to Vie for Most Wins Ever
After delivering a streaming-only event last year, the Billboard Music Awards will return to Fox this year — and air on a few streamers as well.
The star-studded annual event, hosted this year by Michelle Buteau, will air on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 8/7c across Fox, Paramount+ and Amazon’s Fire TV channels.

The BBMAs have been televised on Fox before, airing on the network from 1990-2006. After a four-year hiatus, the awards show then moved to ABC (2011-2017) and NBC (2018-2022), before it streamed exclusively online in 2023.
Heading into this year’s BBMAs, Taylor Swift and Drake are tied for the most wins of all time, with 39 trophies each. This year, Drake competes in eight categories and Swift in 16, meaning one artist could pull ahead as the single most decorated BBMA artist of all time.
Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter is a first-time finalist in nine categories, including Top Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist and Top Radio Songs Artist. Chappell Roan is also in the running for the first time in two categories: Top Artist and Top Female Artist. Joining Carpenter and Roan as first-timers are Shaboozey, Bensone Boone, Teddy Swims, Tommy Richman and Tyla.
