Billy Crystal, Judith Light and Rosie Perez Are Haunted by the Past in Apple TV+'s New Thriller “Before”: See the First Look
The upcoming Apple TV+ drama — which premieres Oct. 25 — will explore family loss with a supernatural twist
Billy Crystal, Judith Light and Rosie Perez are taking a walk on the supernatural side in Apple TV+’s new limited series Before.
The 10-episode psychological thriller — premiering on Oct. 25 — centers around Eli (Crystal), a child psychologist who “after recently losing his wife Lynn (Light), encounters a troubled young boy, Noah (Jacobi Jupe), who seems to have a haunting connection to Eli’s past,” according to the synopsis.
The description teases that "as Eli attempts to help Noah, their mysterious bond deepens."
In newly-released images from the upcoming series, Lynn looks anything but happy as she stands arms crossed and stares at Eli at the hospital. In another snapshot, Eli appears to share an emotional exchange with Perez, whose character's name as not yet been revealed, in the middle of a hospital room.
Eli is also seen getting to know and trying to understand Noah. In one picture, he sits across from Noah and in another snapshot, he wraps his arms around the young boy.
In addition to Crystal, Light, Perez, and Jupe, the Before cast also includes Maria Dizzia and Ava Lalezarzadeh. Crystal also serves as an executive producer, alongside Eric Roth and directors Adam Bernstein and Jet Wilkinson.
In addition to Before, Crystal also voices the character of Mike in the Disney+ animated series Monsters at Work, which also stars Mindy Kaling, Henry Winkler and Ben Feldman.
Light previously appeared as book publisher Blanche Knopf in the Max original drama Julia, while Perez's most recent work includes an appearance on the HBO comedy series Fantasmas and voicing the character Martina Martinez for the Fox animated sitcom Grimsburg.
