The rumors are true. After being spotted on the streets of Manhattan by a few intrepid TikTok users earlier this month, Billy Eichner is is resurrecting his “Billy on the Street” series in the final days of the 2024 presidential campaign.

“Loud White Men for Kamala,” a segment featuring Eichner and Will Ferrell, dropped on Tuesday morning across Eichner’s social feeds. The video shows the two comic actors, elevated voices in tow, encouraging New York pedestrians to vote and volunteer for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. In short, per a note from Eichner’s publicist, to “do everything we possibly can to protect Americans from Donald Trump in these crucial final days of Early Voting and exactly one week before Election Day.”

If Eichner wanted maximum attention on the video, he certainly chose the right partner. Ferrell’s previous appearances on Billy on the Street have garnered more than 100 million views across social media. The new episode was made possible in a partnership with Vote Save America and Swing Left, among other contributors.

It’s been over two years since Eichner resurrected his man-on-the-street franchise in a one-off bid to promote his film Bros. Perhaps best known for its viral clips, the series aired for five seasons on cable television — three on Fuse and a final two on TruTV. The project elevated Eichner’s profile significantly, in addition to earning him three Primetime Emmy nominations and one Webby Award.

“It is time to fucking panic — and not just panic but to do something about it,” Eichner said of the election in a recent Instagram post in which he referred to Trump as a “rapist” and a “nepo baby. “The polls are not good.”

Ferrell has not been quiet this election cycle, either. On Sunday, the Harris-Walz campaign posted a video of Ferrell imploring one apathetic voter, “Gary,” to remember to vote.
