CHICAGO — Tony, Emmy and Grammy-award winning actor and singer Billy Porter, rapper Big Freedia, drag queen and television personality Alyssa Edwards and Puerto Rican artist RaiNao have been announced as the major headliners at this year’s Northalsted Market Days.

The annual summer celebration in the city’s Lakeview neighborhood will be held August 10th and 11th on North Halsted Street between West Addison Street and West Belmont Avenue and will feature music on five stages, more than 250 vendors, dance exhibitions, drag performances and more.

Other headlining performers include Dragonette, Lauren Sanderson, Coco & Breezy, Sixteen Candles and Max Rae.

The event typically draws up to 100,000 people to the neighborhood.

Admission is free, but there is a suggested $20 donation with proceeds going to Howard Brown Health and other non-profit organizations including Human Rights Campaign Chicago, AIDS Foundation Chicago, Brave Space Alliance, Equality Illinois and Chicago House.

This is the 42nd year for the event, which started in 1982 but was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A complete schedule and full list of performers is available on the Northalsted Business Alliance website.
