Bindi Irwin Recreated a Childhood Photo With Younger Brother Robert & It’s the Sweetest Thing Ever
Sometimes siblings drift apart as they get older, but not Bindi Irwin and her younger brother Robert Irwin. The 26-year-old daughter of Terri Irwin and the late Steve Irwin is still as close as ever with her 20-year-old brother, whether they are working at Australia Zoo or going on family vacations together. They recently recreated an adorable childhood photo a decade later, and it’s so sweet to see how much they’ve grown up — and yet, their connection has stayed the same.
Robert shared the then-and-now photos on Instagram today. “10 years between these photos. Time flies! @bindisueirwin” he wrote, tagging his sister. They are standing in front of a lake with the Singapore Flyer in the background, an observation wheel over downtown Singapore.

In the first photo, a teenage Bindi looks cute with her long wavy hair, with a sheer light blue button-down shirt over a floral tank top. She smiles down at her brother in the picture, who is the cutest 10-year-old boy with his blonde hair in a bowl cut. It’s so little brother-coded, we can’t handle it! Slide to see now, and wow — things have changed! Bindi is dressed in a similar pink button-down over a green shirt and her short hair is up in a green cap. Now she smiles up at her brother instead of down because Robert is a head taller than her! He is all grown up with a stylish haircut and a nice blue button-down shirt.
Despite their height difference and life changes (Bindi’s now a mom to daughter Grace, 3, with husband Chandler Powell), there sweet sibling love is just as radiant as ever.
“The love in your eyes hasn’t changed one bit ??” one person commented. Someone else wrote, “It’s so unfair when younger brothers grow past you.”
“I’m surprised you speak to ya Mum after that hair apt ?? she’s awesome yr Mum,” another joked. Someone else commented, “You have turned into a very handsome man, the spitting image of your dad! Bindi is just as beautiful now! ??”
Bindi shared similar then-and-now photos of her and Robert for his birthday. In their childhood photo, Bindi hangs out with her arm around Robert. They are both wearing “Bindi” merch as they grin at the camera. Then the photo switches to now, and Bindi reaches up to rest her hands on Robert’s shoulder since he’s so much taller than her.
“Fast forward 15 years,” Bindi wrote over the video, adding in the caption, “Now I’m standing on my tiptoes to take a photo with you. Happy birthday to the best. 20 years, and a lifetime of adventures ahead of you – remember, you can always call your sister. Love you @robertirwinphotography.”
He responded, “Aw this is the BEST ???? Love you Bindi!!! Bring on the next 20 ??”
These two have been close since the Crocodile Hunter told his daughter that her baby brother was born (the video is sooooo cute in case you missed it), and now they are still best friends as adults. You love to see it!
