Bindi Irwin turns 20 with a koala cake and touching tribute from her boyfriend, who relocated to Australia for her
Bindi Irwin celebrated her 20th birthday on Tuesday with a “ripper” of a celebration at the Australian Zoo.
The full-time animal wrangler and onetime Dancing With the Stars contestant was with her mother, Terri, brother, Robert, and boyfriend, Chandler Powell, for the big bash held at the Queensland zoo. She mingled with zoo visitors, fed the crocodiles (which would have made dad Steve Irwin proud), and then blew out candles on an epic koala birthday cake.
“I had the most beautiful day with the ones I love @AustraliaZoo,” Bindi later told her fans via social media. “My little family makes my every day feel like a birthday celebration. Their love and support is beyond description.”

Bindi’s American pro wakeboarder beau, whom she has been dating since 2014, was very much a part of the festivities. Powell, who relocated to the Sunshine Coast earlier this year and lives with the Irwin clan on their 100-acre zoo property, rolled in with the Irwins on a jeep and posed with them for family photos.

Powell, 21, also gushed about his love in an online tribute. After saying that July 24 “will forever be my favourite day of the year” because it is the day Bindi was born, he wrote that he was glad to be “celebrating the one that I love, my life adventure buddy.” He gushed, “Bee, you are the strongest person I know and spread so much kindness every single day. You inspire me to be a better man and I thank my lucky stars for every moment we spend together. I love you.”

Earlier this year, Bindi called Chandler “the one” in an interview with People magazine.
Terri also used social media to shout out Bindi, “the most perfect & wonderful” daughter born to her and the late Crocodile Hunter, who died in 2006 after being pierced in the heart by a stingray barb. “I’m thankful for you each and every day. I love you.”

Robert called out his sister’s “positivity and kindness,” saying those qualities in her are so “inspiring.”

Bindi also posted a tearjerker of a post — along with an amazing throwback of her as a wee one — thanking her “incredible parents” for having her. “I was born to the kindest, most giving, dedicated and loving Mum and Dad,” she wrote. “I’m so glad my parents decided to have me and then bless our lives with my amazing brother.”
