Blake Lively & Justin Baldoni’s Feud Was Reportedly 'Building Up Since Day One' on the Set of 'It Ends With Us'
While you might already be eating up all the details of the reported feud between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in It Ends With Us, you might still be asking yourself “So what really happened between them?” And while we might not be able to get to the bottom of all of it, insiders are luckily revealing one by one how the feud began.
According to new sources for Us Weekly, Lively and Baldoni’s “creative differences” began to clash right at the beginning and “had been building up since day one” of production.

On set, for example, Lively, who worked as a star and producer in the movie, reportedly developed alliances against Baldoni, who worked as the star, producer, and director. In doing so, they established two opposing sides. “There were two camps on the film — team Blake and team Justin,” the source said. “This creative struggle set the tone for the negative experience behind the scenes and grew into them not speaking anymore.”
With time, their differing opinions began taking a toll, with Baldoni feeling “hurt and sidelined” and that “his vision wasn’t as important as Blake’s.”
As many people out there can relate, once you’re treated negatively time and time again, you might naturally shut down, stop speaking up, etc. To that end, the source said the dynamic surely “stifled the creativity on set.”
Lively, on the other hand, made sure that her feelings and opinions were heard, sometimes at the expense of Baldoni. Per the source, Lively allegedly made decisions about the script and wardrobe changes “often without consulting Justin or his team.”
“Blake was a producer and worked closely with Colleen and other female team members on set,” a second insider said, defending the actress. “Without [Justin’s] input does not mean [she went] behind his back.”
In other words, even the insiders defending Lively’s behavior know that she might’ve stepped over Baldoni’s leadership during filming here and there.
“The tension was so obvious,” an on-set source recently told Page Six.
According to the source, Lively wasn’t engaged in the filming process and wanted to get out of shooting the moment she could. “Once she was done with the scene she was really impatient, said, ‘Am I done? Can I go?,’ and as soon as they said ‘yes,’ there was like a Blake-size hole in the wall,” the source revealed.
Their on-set tensions aside, it seems post-production of the movie was also reportedly filled with drama. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lively ordered a new cut of the movie after Baldoni’s cut from editor Shane Reid, who edited her husband Ryan Reynolds’ movie Deadpool & Wolverine.
Safe to say Lively and Baldoni clashed from the very beginning to the very end.
