Bow Down, Bieber! Kimye Wedding Photo Breaks Record for Most Liked Instagram Ever

Justin Bieber's reign as king of Instagram has ended.

Instagram announced that the photo of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's first kiss as a married couple has become the most-liked ever in the app's three-year history. The pic, posted by the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star on Tuesday, has 1.98 million hearts (and counting). And, if you want to get technical, many more than that thanks to regramming by Kris Jenner (346,000 more likes) and other adoring Kimye fans who couldn't get enough of the country-hopping weddingpalooza.

Now how does The Biebs fit into all this? Well, the Canadian crooner previously held the title with a photo he posted showing him in a surprise snuggle with Selena Gomez. Since he uploaded it on Jan. 4, a much longer time period, it has amassed 1.82 million likes.

Bieber — who has 16.5 million followers to Kim's 14.8 — getting bumped from the top spot is a big deal because he's long been the source of the photo site's most popular pics. Last year, a snapshot he shared with his "Uncle Will" — that would be Will Smith to you and us — was the top Instagram photo for 2013 with 1.5 million likes. In 2012, he also headed the list with a photo he shared of his father, Jeremy Bieber, and two younger siblings, Jaxon and Jazmyn, which had 56,000 thumbs up. (Clearly Instagram's popularity has soared since back then.)

Anything Bieber posts with off-again gal pal Gomez seems to be a hit, including a photo of the "elegant princess" at an Oscar party in March (1.67million) and a shot snapped last July 4 (1.28), which threw loyal Jelena fans into a tizzy.

But the "Boyfriend" singer better watch his back because Kim's newfound Instagram popularity doesn't seem to be a one-off. A second photo she posted from Saturday s nuptials has amassed a whopping 1.61 million likes in three days.

And anything she posts of daughter North West is Instagold. Baby's first public photo ever has 1.51 million, a collage of her smiling last fall has 1.67, and a recent Mother's Day shot with a high-flying North has pulled in 1.49 million.

Considering those numbers, we can only imagine what a photo of Kim, Kanye, and North at the wedding could generate. It might just break the Internet. And don't count it out. After all, Mrs. Kardashian West hasn't stopped posting online, despite being on her honeymoon in Europe.
