‘Blue Beetle’ to Arrive on Max This Month
“Blue Beetle” will crawl its way to streaming this month. Warner Bros’ latest DC superhero adventure will arrive on Max on Nov. 17.
Directed by ángel Manuel Soto, the film centers on college graduate Jaime Reyes ( Xolo Maridue?a) who gets chosen to become a symbiotic host to an ancient alien biotech relic that turns him into the superhero known as Blue Beetle. As one of the most preeminent Latino superheroes in comic book history, the “Blue Beetle” cast is predominantly Latino, including Bruna Marquezine, George Lopez, Raoul Max Trujillo, Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, Damián Alcázar and Belissa Escobedo, along with Susan Sarandon.

The film, which came out in April, dethroned “Barbie” for the No. 1 spot but took in a softer-than-expected debut of $25.4 million.
The film represents the penultimate release of the current DC Studios regime, with the upcoming “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” representing the final installment before the comic book universe’s continuity reboots with Gunn’s “Superman: Legacy” in 2025.
In his review of the film, Variety chief film critic writes that “The brisk, cheeky, unabashed gizmo-happy triviality of ‘Blue Beetle,’ a superhero origin story from the DC side of the tracks, is enough to make the film feel like a breath of fresh pulp.”
“Blue Beetle” will begin streaming on Max starting Nov. 17. You can also access the film for free by subscribing to Prime Video which offers a 7-day free trial to Max:
