Bob Saget cause of death: Sheriff says actor was found in 'orderly' hotel room, no sign of trauma
Bob Saget was found unresponsive in the bed of an orderly Room 962 of The Ritz-Carlton Orlando on Sunday with no sign of trauma or foul play, according to an Orange County Sheriff's Office report released Monday.
By the time Sheriff's Deputy Adrian Gonzalez responded to the hotel's report of an "unresponsive" guest, fire and rescue crews were on the scene and pronounced Saget, 65, dead shortly afterward, at 4:18 p.m. EST.
Saget, who had used his electronic key to enter the room at 2 a.m., was due to check out early that Sunday morning, according to the report. When family members were unable to get in touch with the comedian, who was on tour, they contacted The Ritz Carlton security team, which sent an officer to his room, the report said.

The security officer, Jody Lee Harrison, tried "knocking several times" before entering the room to find all the lights out. Harrison found Saget in bed, "cold to the touch, yellow and clammy," and his left arm was across his chest, the report said. Harrison checked for breathing and a pulse but none were detected.
The room itself was described as "orderly," with Saget's items still on the nightstand, television stand and in the closet and the bathroom.
The 911 call, released with redactions by the sheriff's office Monday, featured a hotel employee telling the dispatcher, "We have an unresponsive guest in the room." The caller said the guest was “non-responsive, not breathing and (had) no pulse.”
The sheriff's office has passed the ruling of Saget's cause of death to the Orange County Medical Examiner's officer.
Chief Medical Examiner Joshua Stephany said in a statement Monday that an autopsy had been completed on Saget, with no "evidence of drug use or foul play." However, the cause and manner of death are "pending further studies and investigation, which may take up to 10-12 weeks to complete," according to the statement.
The death of Saget, best known for his role as single dad Danny Tanner on the ABC sitcom “Full House” and as the original host of the network's “America’s Funniest Home Videos," has lead to an outpouring of grief across the country from fans, friends and colleagues.
Saget's final Instagram post Saturday night was filled with hope after completing a successful comedy show from his "I Don't Do Negative" tour in nearby Jacksonville.
"I loved tonight’s show in Jacksonville," Saget wrote in the post. "Very appreciative and fun audiences. I had no idea I did a two hour set tonight. I’m back in comedy like I was when I was 26. I guess I’m finding my new voice and loving every moment of it. A’ight, see you in two weeks.
"Goin’ everywhere until I get the special shot. And then probably keep going cause I’m addicted to this," he added, signing off with "Peace out. ??"
