Bonnie Raitt, Rufus Wainwright among many named as appearing at 2023 Americana Awards
Performers and presenters have been announced for Sept. 20's 22nd annual Americana Honors & Awards at the Ryman Auditorium.
Among many, comedian Sarah Silverman, CBS personality Anthony Mason and pop-rock legend Lyle Lovett will present awards. Acts including Allison Russell, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Margo Price, Marty Stuart, Patty Griffin, Rufus Wainwright, The War And Treaty and more will perform.
Legendary Americana musician, producer and songwriter Buddy Miller will again serve as musical director for the Americana All-Star Band. That group features Brady Blade, Catherine Popper, Fred Eltringham, Jen Gunderman, Jim Hoke, Larry Campbell and The McCrary Sisters this year.
Top nominees for awards at the event include country crooner Charley Crockett, Price and Russell. Crockett and Price earned three nods, while Russell competes for two honors. All three earned a nomination for Artist of the Year.
They join an Artist of the Year nomination class that includes Russell, breakout country singer Sierra Ferrell and bluegrass star Billy Strings, who won the award in 2022.
Album of the Year nominees include titles from Crockett, Price ("Strays"), Hermanos Gutiérrez ("El Bueno y el Malo,"), Tyler Childers ("Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven") and Angel Olson ("Big Time"). Song of the Year features Crockett's "I'm Just a Clown," Russell and Carlile's collaboration "You're Not Alone," Price's "Change of Heart," Bonnie Raitt's Grammy Award-winning "Just Like That," and Zach Bryan's 2022-released "Something in the Orange."

Insofar as performers, those include 49 Winchester, Adeem the Artist, Allison Russell, Angel Olsen, The Avett Brothers, Bettye LaVette, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Brandy Clark, Hermanos Gutiérrez, Logan Ledger, Margo Price, Marty Stuart, The Milk Carton Kids, Nickel Creek, Noah Kahan, Patty Griffin, Rufus Wainwright, S.G. Goodman, Sunny War, The War And Treaty and William Prince.
In addition, the 2023 Honors & Awards will include this year's Lifetime, Trailblazer and Legacy Award Honorees: The Avett Brothers, George Fontaine Sr., Bettye LaVette, Patty Griffin and Nickel Creek.
The 2023 Honors & Awards show will stream live via Circle Network's YouTube channel and Americana Music Association's Facebook page on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET/6:30 CT, while live audio simulcasts of the show will be available via SiriusXM's Outlaw Country, and on Nashville area terrestrial radio stations: WRLT (100.1 FM), WSM (650 AM) and WMOT (89.5 FM).
Additionally, the program will be broadcast in the Austin City Limits time slot in November.
