“Straight Male Friend” is the SNL sketch the duo starred in together when the athlete hosted a season 49 episode in October 2023. The sketch showed the joys of “a low-effort friendship that requires no emotional commitment, financial investment or drama” between a gay man and a straight man.
He revealed that they still “keep up every now and then” via social media, adding, “We’ll check in with each other. He’s so sweet.”
Yang previously opened up about seeing Kelce and his superstar girlfriend, Taylor Swift, while on set at Saturday Night Live. “It was dress rehearsal, like great, that was fun,” he said during an episode of his Las Culturistas podcast, which he co-hosts with fellow comedian Matt Rogers. “I walk outside to go to my makeup chair, I see two people talking to two tall people. Tallest people in the world.”
He jokingly added, “By the way, it’s one thing to see them individually. I see them together and I go, ‘I’m in the Redwood Forest.’”
