Snowpiercer’s Daveed Diggs joins Prime Video’s The Boys Season 5 cast
Daveed Diggs has been cast in a mystery role for The Boys Season 5, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Diggs, recognized for his performances in Hamilton, Snowpiercer, and Disney’s The Little Mermaid, will join Amazon’s R-rated superhero series as a regular cast member, EW reported. However, details about his character remain undisclosed.
Diggs also voiced a character in Amazon’s Invincible, another R-rated superhero series. His addition to The Boys comes as the show prepares to wrap up with its highly anticipated fifth season. Season 5 is currently in early development.
Production is expected to take around two years, pushing the release to mid-2026. The writers began working shortly before Season 4’s release in June 2024, showrunner Eric Kripke told Deadline. Kripke stated that he has a clear vision for the series’ conclusion and is focusing on the overall mythology to ensure a satisfying ending.
The established cast, including Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, and Erin Moriarty, will return for the final season. Additionally, Jensen Ackles will reprise his role as Soldier Boy. Although The Boys is ending, the franchise will continue with spinoffs, including Gen V, which recently renewed for a second season, and the prequel series Vought Rising, featuring Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash.
The conclusion of The Boys will wrap up Kripke’s original five-season plan, but the world of the series will live on through its expanding universe of spin-offs.
