Country crooning and Motownphilly harmony will come to town this summer when Martina McBride and Boyz II Men headline two free concerts at Columbus Commons.

In partnership with Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA), Columbus Commons will welcome McBride at 7 p.m. July 9 and Boyz II Men at 7 p.m. Aug. 25. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for both shows.

Known for her soaring soprano and crossover success, McBride has churned out a long succession of Top 10 hits including "My Baby Loves Me," "Life No. 9," Safe in the Arms of Love," "Wild Angels," "In My Daughter's Eyes" and "This One's for the Girls."

A multiple award-winner — including being named the Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year four times — McBride also is known for her charity work.

Boyz II Men, who performed at Columbus Commons in 2019, have captivated fans since the mid-'80s with their passionate ballads and pitch-perfect harmonies on hit singles like "Motownphilly," "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday," "End of the Road" and "I'll Make Love to You."

Both shows are free, but tickets will be required for admission.

Tickets for McBride's concert with supporting act Harper Grace will be released at 10 a.m. June 14, and tickets to see Boyz II Men with Harmonic Soul will be available at 10 a.m. July 26. The limit for each concert will be two tickets per person/household.

Once tickets are released, they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at columbuscommons.org.
