Kim Kardashian Rents Out the Staples Center for Kanye West's Birthday
What do you get a guy like Kanye West who has everything for his birthday? Well, you have to be creative and have a lot of cash.
To mark his 38th year, Kim Kardashian rented out the Staples Center in Los Angeles — home of the NBA's Lakers and Clippers — so her husband could bro out on a professional basketball court for his special day. Khloé shared the above photo on Instagram, writing, "Kim rented out staples bitch!!! Him and his boys are going to ball!!!! Happy birthday Yeezy!!!!"
A source told E! News, "Kim rented out the Staples Center so Kanye and his boys could play an NBA-style game with real refs and Laker girls! John Salley is the announcer. Houston Rockets player James Harden and rapper 2 Chainz are the coaches. John Legend sang the national anthem."
Justin Bieber, Tyga, Pusha T, and more of Kanye's close buds played today in addition to NBA stars Russell Westbrook and John Wall. According to E! — which airs all of the Kardashian family's TV shows — Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Carmelo Anthony, Shaquille O'Neal, and Scottie Pippen even made videos for 'Ye that were showed on the jumbotron.
Kylie, 17, was also in attendance, presumably cheering on her boyfriend, Tyga. She took the above selfie with a pregnant Kim and hung out with sister Khloé at the bash.
All in all, the total cost to rent the space came to about $110,000. We're not sure if the cake was included.
But that wasn't all... E!'s insider said Kim also surprised her main squeeze — who is "obsessed" with basketball — with a private court she had built in their new (giant) backyard.
Kim, who wished her hubby happy birthday earlier on Monday, also shared a photo of an adorable young Kanye along with a special message from his daughter: "'Happy Cake Daddy' - North."
How will Kanye possibly be able to top this when Kim turns 35 on October 21? At least he's still got a few months to plan.
