Brad Paisley invites Post Malone to make Grand Ole Opry debut in Nashville. Here's when
Post Malone's journey to his Aug. 16-released "F-1 Trillion" album is taking him to the Grand Ole Opry.
Via a video from his just-announced "Goes Without Saying" collaborator — and Grand Ole Opry member since 2001 — Brad Paisley, Malone was invited to make his Grand Ole Opry debut on Aug. 14, 2024.
"Hey Post! Brad here. So what I'm about to ask is going to mean a lot to you, I think, knowing you and knowing the respect that you have for country music (via) this journey you're embarking on now as a hillbilly singer — which is going to be massive and remarkable and amazing for both country music and I think you. (I would like to ask) would you like to play the Opry? Come play it with me in August. (It's a) total invite and it's going to be the first of many appearances from you, I have a feeling. Come experience what it's like to play the show that started it all. You and I can jam together; a lot of your friends will be there and we're going to have a blast."
Malone's debut will also feature newly-minted Grand Ole Opry member (and fellow "F-1 Trillion" duet partner) Lainey Wilson, Vince Gill, John Michael Montgomery and the War & Treaty, among many others.
Tickets for Malone's Grand Ole Opry debut are currently available via https://www.opry.com/show/2024-08-14-grand-ole-opry-at-7-pm.
Malone and Paisley's history together
Malone has already appeared with Paisley onstage in 2024 at April's Stagecoach Festival.
Alongside Dwight Yoakam and Sara Evans, Paisley was a special guest during the "Rockstar" vocalist's first-ever 45-minute country cover set on Stagecoach's Mane Stage.
"We're going to be doing a bunch of songs that I f---ing love," stated Malone, who introduced himself by his government name, Austin Richard Post, beforehand.
In years past, Malone performed Sturgill Simpson's "You Can Have the Crown" and Paisley's "I'm Gonna Miss Her" during Matthew McConaughey's "We're Texas" fundraising event after Winter Storm Uri in 2021.
In a full circle moment, at Stagecoach, Paisley joined Malone for "I'm Gonna Miss Her,"
After asking the crowd to appraise his performance, Paisley noted Malone was "made for this." Then, they performed Vince Gill's 1992 hit "One More Last Chance."
Collaborators premiering 'F-1 Trillion' tracks already
Paisley is one of 13 album collaborators for Malone's "F-1 Trillion," including Country Music Hall of Famers Dolly Parton and Hank Williams, Jr., plus artists responsible for more than 100 Billboard No. 1 country radio singles, including multiple-time Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs who appears on the album twice.
His Aug. 14 appearance with Malone will allow him to join Combs, Billboard's all-genre Hot 100 chart-topper "I Had Some Help" (featuring Morgan Wallen), Blake Shelton duet ("Pour Me A Drink"), plus cuts Malone played at his recent Bud Light-sponsored mini-concert at Nashville's Marathon Music Works including "Never Love You Again" (a pairing with Americana Honors & Awards Entertainer of the Year nominee Sierra Ferrell) and HARDY murder ballad duet "Hide My Gun" — alongside Malone solo tracks "Yours" and "What Don't Belong to Me" as tracks that will have been premiered before that album's full release.
In total, the following artists will appear on "F-1 Trillion":
Luke Combs
ERNEST
Sierra Ferrell
HARDY
Jelly Roll
Tim McGraw
Brad Paisley
Blake Shelton
Chris Stapleton
Billy Strings
Morgan Wallen
Hank Williams, Jr.
Lainey Wilson
What will Malone play at the Opry? What if that event sells out?
Consider that in the past few years, Malone's played fellow Aug. 14 Opry guest Gill's "One More Last Chance" and Montgomery's "Be My Baby Tonight" alongside songs including "Chattahoochee" by Alan Jackson and George Strait's 1995 chart-topper "Check Yes or No" in live sets.
Expect more unique Malone collabs to occur on Opryland Drive.
Can't get enough of seeing Malone live, or are you afraid that Opry tickets may sell out before you snag one?
On Oct. 19, 2024, Malone will headline a concert at Nissan Stadium as the final date of a nationwide six-week, 21-date stadium, festival and amphitheater tour. Tickets for the date are on sale now via livenation.com.
