Brad Pitt is spending time with MIT professor Neri Oxman — but what does it mean?
Brad Pitt has a new friend … and she sounds pretty awesome. The actor, who is currently finalizing his divorce from Angelina Jolie, has been spending time recently with award-winning MIT professor Neri Oxman.
Page Six TV, which was first to report the news, says Pitt, 54, was referred to Oxman, 42, regarding an architectural project he’s working on. Oxman is an architect, designer and an associate professor of media arts and sciences at the MIT Media Lab. “Brad and Neri instantly hit it off because they share the same passion for architecture, design and art,” a source said. “This is best described as a professional friendship.”
An insider confirms to Yahoo, “[Brad and Neri] are spending time together, but as friends.” A second source also maintains they have only a professional relationship.
They likely aren’t short on things to discuss since they both have a love for architecture — Pitt even considered becoming an architect himself. After Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, he formed the Make It Right Foundation, partnering with architectural firms to design and build 150 homes for residents of New Orleans’s Lower Ninth Ward. The actor also has a passion for environmentally friendly sustainable development, which is something important to Oxman.
According to Oxman’s bio, the American-Israeli architect’s goal “is to enhance the relationship between built, natural, and biological environments by employing design principles inspired and engineered by nature, and implementing them in the invention of novel design technologies.”
In 2009, she was named as one of ICON’s “top most influential designers and architects to shape our future” and Esquire’s “best and brightest.” One year later, Fast Company picked her among its “most creative people” and one of the “10 most creative women in business.”
This isn’t the first woman Pitt has been linked to since his split with Jolie, 42, in 2016. He’s had a busy few years, according to the tabloids, romancing Sienna Miller, Jennifer Aniston, and Jennifer Lawrence. However, Lawrence doesn’t have a problem with the false headlines.
When asked if they are secretly dating, she said, “No, I’ve met him once in like 2013, so it was very random, but, I also wasn’t like, in a huge hurry to debunk it.”
Hopefully, she’s not too upset that Pitt has a new friend.
