Brandon Barash’s Final Days of Our Lives Episode Sends Stefan Packing — Did He Deserve a Better Exit?
Monday, Oct. 28 marked Brandon Barash’s final appearance on Days of Our Lives… and the poor guy spent most of the hour with his eyes closed!
The episode began with Stefan declaring his love for Gabi, promising to end the divorce process and fight for their marriage. Unfortunately, that declaration was made to an empty living room, so there was no one around to hear it. Shortly thereafter, Stefan was attacked from behind by a masked assailant, who made sure he was thoroughly unconscious before consulting the woman who hired him — Vivian Alamain!

As Vivian explained to her henchman, this plot is in Stefan’s best interest. In her words, she refuses to let his “serious and debilitating weakness” for Gabi cause him to “fall prey to another cuckolding shrew ever again.” After a bit of forgery, Vivian had those divorce papers signed, sealed and delivered to Gabi’s doorstep by the end of the hour.
“You’re going to be very angry with me when you find out what I’ve done,” Vivian told her sleeping son. “And then you’ll realize it was the best thing I could do for you. I love you, my son. See you soon.”
The next (and last) time we saw Stefan, he was fighting to free himself in the trunk of a car, pleading for Ivan to let him go. “You’ve got to help me get out of here!” he said. “I need to stay in town and fight for my marriage. I need to get to Gabi and tell her I love her and need her in my life!”
Unfortunately, that message will never be relayed to Gabi, who was heartbroken to receive the signed papers. Even with her cousin Javi to lean on, this is going to be a lot for Gabi to get through.
Oh, you want one more twist? It was then revealed that Vivian has been working with Philip to take control of Titan — and their plan appears to be working.
Stefan’s last episode comes just three days after Barash revealed (via our sister site Soaps.com) that the writers had decided to end his character’s story. Should the writers desire to bring Stefan back someday, it doesn’t sound like Barash is eager to take their phone call. “I would have to be able to trust them, and I’ve lost that,” he tells the site. “I’ve lost that ability to trust that team, quite frankly.” He sums up the entire experience as a “gut punch.”
