Brandy Would “Love” To Tour With Monica Following “The Boy Is Mine” Remake

Are Brandy and Monica about to go on tour? One of them at least hopes so.

While at the Los Angeles premiere for Disney’s Descendants: The Rise of Red, Brandy revealed that she and her “The Boy Is Mine” collaborator want to do more together since assisting Ariana Grande on the reimagined remix of their hit single.

“I hit [Monica] up so much talking about all the things that we could do together — tour, residency, everything,” Brandy told Extra TV. “I really want that. Monica, I really want that.”

Of the modern remake itself, Brandy described the reunion as “so magical.” She continued, “The energy between me and Monica was so beautiful. I loved working with her this time. It was so great for [Ariana] to call us up to be a part of it. She didn’t have to do that. She didn’t take anything from the original. She created a whole new song, so to call us and pay homage in that way was just such a blessing.”

Ariana Grande released the visual to her version of “the boy is mine” in early June and it featured a cameo from Brandy and Monica. It wasn’t long before the three women released a formal remix to the record.

“I ……… cannot believe this is real (i don’t know if i will, even long after it’s out),” Grande gushed in the formal announcement. “My deepest and sincerest thank you to Brandy and Monica, not only for joining me for this moment, but for your generosity, your kindness, and for the countless ways in which you have inspired me. it is near impossible to say how much this means to me.”

News that Brandy hopes to tour with Monica or co-headline a residency with her comes months after her little brother, Ray J, manifested it.

Back in March, he hopped into the comments of Monica’s livestream and wrote, “BRANDY/MONICA TOUR – PLEASE LETS MAKE HISTORY, ONE RUN FOR THE FANS. 100M plus for you both.”

Monica fired back at the minor press run he began doing and declared, “I’ve not received any contracts or calls about said tour. Ray J, I’m kindly asking you to stop speaking on me in public! A private conversation would be both necessary and respectful!”

However, since “the boy is mine” remix came to fruition, fans may actually get the tour they’ve been dreaming of.
