Branford Marsalis to play with New Albany symphony on April 13, tickets on sale Wednesday
Acclaimed musician Branford Marsalis, whose numerous accolades include three Grammy Awards, will perform with the New Albany Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. April 13 at the Jeanne B. McCoy Center for the Arts.
Tickets, which are $35-$125, go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Wednesday via newalbanaysymphony.com, CBUSArts.com, or by calling the CBUSArts ticket center at 614-469-0939. Tickets for the symphony's April 13 fundraising gala also will be on sale Wednesday, separately from the symphony concert. Tickets for the gala are $125 each.

Equally well-known for his work with his musical family and his solo projects, Marsalis is sought-after as a featured soloist with such orchestras including the New York and Los Angeles philharmonics, and the Chicago, Detroit, North Carolina, and Düsseldorf symphonies. Even as he tours the world as a featured classical soloist, he continues to play with the Branford Marsalis Quartet, formed in 1986.
The 63-year-old saxophonist and bandleader also is a noted composer for Broadway, film and television.

The New Albany Symphony Orchestra's annual fundraiser, the Bourbon Street Gala, will precede the concert from 5-7 p.m. April 13 at the New Albany Country Club. The event will offer gourmet Southern fare, specialty cocktails, live music, and a luxury silent auction.
The gala celebration will continue in the McCoy Center lobby after Marsalis' performance with the symphony orchestra. From 9-10 p.m. guests can enjoy a champagne toast and dessert.
