Bravo Villains Who Became Fan Favorites
Not every Bravo star’s role is written in stone. While some villains are beyond redemption, others have proven that a reputation isn’t permanent. Here are six Bravo stars who went from villain to fan favorite.
James Kennedy (Vanderpump Rules)
Vanderpump Rules fans were first introduced to James Kennedy as Kristen Doute’s rebound in Season 3. The DJ wasn’t exactly well-liked when he first joined the VPR crew. From cheating on his girlfriends to fat-shaming Katie Maloney, fans weren’t buying what he was selling. However, viewers’ hearts have softened over the years, and James has somehow become a fan favorite. The 31-year-old added some much-needed comic relief to Season 10 and fans began to stan the former villain. Additionally, his relationship with new girlfriend Ally Lewber was sweet to watch and we were living for his “worm with a mustache” comment at the reunion. The former busboy has cleansed himself of his villain status…for now.
Sutton Stracke (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills)
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Sutton Stracke has become one of the most beloved Housewives of all time but it wasn’t always that way. She had a villain edit in her first season and received criticism from viewers for the way she handled conflict on the show. Over time, viewers got more used to Sutton’s quirky personality and became endeared to her. Sure, she can be overly sensitive and a bit self-centered but that’s why we love her! The RHOBH star has done a total 180 since joining the show. She’s shed her villainous reputation and become a hero.
Jessel Taank (Real Housewives of New York)
Jessel Taank is like the Sutton Stracke of Real Housewives of New York. In the first half of Season 14, Jessel felt like the odd man out. Fans didn’t quite understand her sense of humor and she felt like the weak link of the cast. However, as the season progressed, public opinion started to shift. Fans became defensive of Jessel as the other women continued to gossip about her sex life and her upbringing. Fans’ view of the Bravo star changed so rapidly that by the reunion, she was the people’s princess.
Kenya Moore (Real Housewives of Atlanta)
Kenya Moore came in hot in Season 5 of Real Housewives of Atlanta, and it didn’t take long before fans labeled her a villain. She feuded with the OGs, caused all kinds of drama, and delivered some truly shady confessionals. However, once Kenya transitioned into motherhood, fans softened towards the RHOA star. They started to see a different side of her and decided maybe she wasn’t all bad. Today, she is one of the most beloved (and feared) Real Housewives stars.
Lala Kent (Vanderpump Rules)
Vanderpump Rules fans (like the cast) aren’t super welcoming to newcomers and that was certainly the case with Lala Kent. The Utah native was instantly disliked by most of the VPR cast and fans jumped on board. She made the perfect villain in her first couple of seasons. She was confrontational, controversial, and, at times, downright rude. However, Lala has changed a lot since Season 4. She’s gotten sober and welcomed a daughter. She’s really tried turning her reputation around since her VPR debut.
Camille Grammer (Real Housewives of Beverly Hills)
Camille Grammer was the OG RHOBH villain. She was even gifted the title of “America’s Most-Hated Housewife” after Season 1. Brutal. The former actress was so disliked that we thought she would be branded as a villain for good. But she proved all of us wrong when she returned for Season 2. She was cool-headed, reasonable, and fun to watch. She kept her sense of humor but learned how to pull back from arguments and keep the peace. Camille really is proof that being labeled “a villain” is not a life sentence.
