Directed by Markpeaced, Faiyaz gets his Fast and Furious on while speeding through the barren desert in a car chase with Nyong’o. After nearly going in for a kiss, the thrilling clip takes a turn when Faiyaz ends up on the fictional set of an action movie with the actress which comes to a close with a scene change.
“I’m a procrastinator, I’m a frivolous spender, and I definitely spend a lot of time with a lot of different women. That record reflects having access and opportunity, and having to say no to certain s–t or the inability to say no to certain s–t,” Faiyaz told Rolling Stone about the record.
“That record is about addiction in a way, shape, or form, but more from the perspective of submitting to it versus fighting against it. It touches on addiction in a way that makes it a little more seductive.”
Last year, Faiyaz launched his ISO Supremacy creative agency in partnership with UnitedMasters.
“Brent Faiyaz is one of the most prolific independent artists today, and we are extremely excited to embark on this new partnership with him,” said UnitedMasters founder/CEO Steve Stoute at the time.
Giving fans just a day’s notice, Faiyaz surprise-released his Larger Than Life album in October with features from Missy Elliott, Coco Jones, Babyface Ray and more.
The LP moved 42,000 equivalent album units in the first week ending Nov. 2 and debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
As for Nyong’o, the Us star made time out of her busy schedule to work with Faiyaz. She’s slated to star in the horror film A Quiet Place: Day One later this year.
