Brian McKnight’s Son Niko, Ex-Wife Julie Respond After He Labels Older Children “A Product Of Sin”
Brian McKnight critics are calling for his cancellation once again amid the latest slander of his oldest children.
The crooner made a post praising his stepdaughter Julia for graduating and he was called out for labeling her his “one and only daughter.” McKnight has Brian Jr. and Niko from his first marriage to Julie McKnight, Briana from a previous relationship plus two stepchildren (Julia and Jack) and a toddler, Brian Kainoa Makoa McKnight Jr., from his current marriage.
He claimed that Julia “understands the scriptures,” promptly quoting Exodus 20:12—”Honor your father and your mother…”
In response, someone commented, “The same God that said ‘honor your father & mother’ also said ‘Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him’ AND ‘train up a child in the way he should go & when he is older he will not depart from it.’ Your children are a reflection of the work & prayers & spirituality & moral compass that PARENTS POUR INTO KIDS. You disowned kids that you created & you are also against God but judgement day is between you & your maker so #carryon.”
McKnight replied, “1. God wasn’t taking about children that are the product of sin which these are 2. I didn’t raise them their mothers did 3. Know the whole story before quoting the Bible 4. Take your inaccurate negativity off my page and try being happy.”
First, his ex-wife Julie reacted to her children’s father’s commentary via Instagram Live.
“The point at the end of every negative situation, whether it’s an illness, whether it’s a fool that you have to deal with because they keep entering your life when you are no longer giving any more energy to it, it’s to only keep you down to where they thought they had you because they were the author of an extremely abusive situation emotionally, mentally,” she expressed.
Later adding, “And they’re no good at not being the center of that attention anymore. So when everybody pulls that away, it’s like a kid who throws a tantrum.”
Not long after, Niko—one of McKnight’s estranged sons who is currently battling cancer—shared some alleged vile memories about his father.
“I’m evil. That’s wild: The guy who used to make me clean his used condoms out his bathroom at 15 before Lisa got home is calling me evil Fashoooooo,” he commented via The Shade Room.
Niko also claimed that his estranged father forges his and his siblings’ signatures at one point. He expounded upon his sentiments on X, noting that during his cancer treatments, he attempted to reconcile with McKnight, but to no avail.
“When I was about to die in the hospital from complications from my cancer, I just wanted to bury the hatchet and hear him say he loves me and he told me he couldn’t arbitrarily tell me he loves me. Still cuts so deep,” Niko tweeted.

He also claimed that he and his siblings “saved [McKnight] from federal prison,” but most of all, still loves him “because I know there’s my dad in there somewhere.”
Niko isn’t the first to open up about his severed paternal relationship. Brian McKnight Jr. shared via Facebook in 2019, “I don’t think there is any situation that merits the way my father has chosen to treat my brother, my sisters, and his grandchildren, one of which being his first born’s, first born son, who also bares our name,” he wrote. “It’s insane to me. To have absolutely no empathy for the type of life be [sic] introduced us to, only to become to resent us for that life catching up with us. It breaks my heart, but not for myself, specifically for my siblings, and my children. They don’t deserve this at all.”
Whereas Briana had to disclose her sexual history in court in 2020 after McKnight alluded that she’d been in an “incestuous relationship.” She was suing him for defamation and invasion of privacy; they’ve since settled out of court.
