Brigitte Macron Favors Utilitarian Details in White Louis Vuitton Dress to Welcome Germany’s President With Husband Emmanuel Macron
President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, welcomed Germany’s president, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to France on Wednesday. Brigitte selected a white Louis Vuitton shift featuring three-quarter sleeves, a zipper closure and a chunky leather carabiner clip belt. She also added on sharp black pumps and leather wrap bracelets.
Wearing her blond bob with wispy fringe, the French first lady’s makeup consisted of a smokey eye and a nude lip.

Steinmeier was accompanied by his wife, Elke Budenbender, who also wore a white dress.
Steinmeier has been Germany’s president since 2017. This is not to be confused with the country’s chancellor, Olaf Scholz.
The Macrons were prominently featured during the 2024 Paris Olympics, which took place earlier this month. They attended several tournaments and the Games’ opening and closing ceremonies. At the latter event, Brigitte selected a tailored white blazer with black trim, adding capri pants and a leather handbag.
Emmanuel and Brigitte, a former teacher, have been married since 2007. Brigitte has three children, who she shared with her ex-husband, banker André-Louis Auzière, until his passing in 2019.
Brigitte has been known to favor Louis Vuitton designs. At an International Olympic Committee gala ahead of the Paris Games, she sported a cropped skirt suit by the French fashion house. She also posed with Louis Vuitton’s current creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, on the cover of Madame Figaro in March.
“I started wearing his designs before knowing him,” Macron said in the article, recalling that she attended Ghesquière’s March 2015 show in a bespoke navy blue coat with a silver collar created for her “without us even meeting.”
