Last week on Dancing with the Stars, Eric Roberts and his professional partner Britt Stewart were one of the two couples that were eliminated at the end of ‘Hair Metal Night.’ Whether or not Britt will return this season in another capacity remains to be seen but what it does give her is more time to plan her wedding to her former DWTS partner Daniel Durant.

The two met when they were teamed up in 2022 on Season 31. Britt and Daniel wowed the judges with their emotional storytelling in the ballroom routines and they made it all the way to the semifinals (fifth place) before being eliminated.

In order to work together, Britt learned American Sign Language to communicate with Daniel as they also figured out how he could learn to dance without being able to hear music.

They may not have won the Mirror Ball Trophy, but they left the competition with something so much better and as their romance kicked into high gear,  they will now be dancing partners for life.

The couple, who went public with their romance on Valentine’s Day 2023, became engaged on Christmas Day later that year. Daniel proposed on a mountain top in Lake Arrowhead, Calif., surrounded by both their families and now the wedding is in the works.

“I can’t share too many details, but yes, we’ve set a date for 2025, and we have a place,” Britt tells Parade. “I have not picked a dress yet but I am hoping I will find the one. We just looked at each other and we were like, ‘It’s happening.’”

Daniel is currently starring in a new musical production with Center Theater Group and Deaf West Theater called American Idiot, featuring an ensemble of both deaf and hearing actors, performing simultaneously in ASL and spoken English, which opened Oct. 9 and will run until Nov. 16. In fact, one of his co-stars is Milo Manheim, also a Dancing with the Stars alumni.

And just as American Idiot is bilingual, so will Britt and Daniel’s wedding now that she is fluent in ASL, according to Daniel

“Well, I am a consistent learner and I’m also a perfectionist,” Britt says, “So, for me, I wouldn’t say that I’m fluent. But Daniel says that I’m fluent because I can communicate with anyone that’s deaf or hard of hearing. We’re trying to consider how to make our wedding accessible, so that it’s fun and accessible and enjoyable for both our hearing and deaf family.”

Dancing with the Stars airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET, simulcast LIVE on ABC and Disney+, and available next day on Hulu.
