Brittany Mahomes Gives 'So Sad' Update About Upcoming Newest Family Addition

Brittany Mahomes is giving fans an extended family update.

The wife of NFL star Patrick Mahomes took to Instagram to share that one of their duck's eggs, which was supposed to hatch a chick, has been destroyed.

Earlier this week, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit rookie shared that their pet duck was expecting nine ducklings, however, she later found a cracked egg scattered in the yard.

"It was a raccoon at 4:30am this morning," the mom of two explained in her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, June 5. "I'm so sad."

She continued: "One of the eggs was broke. I think she literally took it away... and then there were 8."

The original post uploaded on June 4 revealed, "Our pet duck is gonna have 9 babies can't wait to see them," alongside a photo of the eggs.

Duck aside, the family of four—comprised of the couple and their two children, daughter Sterling Skye Mahomes, 3, and son Patrick "Bronze" Lavon Mahomes III, 1—also has a crew of other pets, including dogs Steel and Silver.

In another recent family update, Brittany gave a glimpse inside a rough few days with her sick three-year-old, who was under the weather.

Early last month, she posted a personal photo of herself and Sterling cuddling together on her Instagram Stories, with the toddler girl's eyes closed as she leaned on her mother for support. "Day 4 of sickness for my baby boo. Some stomach virus that won’t get the heck out of here,” Brittany wrote on top of the picture at the time.
