Brittany Mahomes Gushes Over Taylor Swift's Marked Impact on Football Fans
Brittany Mahomes is no stranger to the "Swiftie effect," and neither is her NFL superstar husband, Patrick Mahomes.
The couple recently gave their two cents on the impact Taylor Swift has had on the NFL since she began dating Travis Kelce, and both the quarterback and his wife seem to think it's been for the best.
While hitting the red carpet at the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII ring ceremony on Thursday, June 13, the spouses spoke to E! News about the "Swiftie effect," and Brittany, 28, said she "loves" the way her gal pal has changed the game.
"I love that it's getting young girls into football, so that they can watch it with their dads," the former soccer player said with a smile, while adding, "I feel like most dads out there love it when their daughters are like, 'I wanna watch football!'"
It's no surprise that Taylor's romance with Travis, 34, has brought a new demographic of fans to the sport—and it has even drawn the eyes of those who were already football fans before the "Fortnight" songstress came along. The coverage of this year's Super Bowl LVIII, which Taylor, 34, notably attended, is now the most-watched telecast in history.
"I think it got a bunch of beautiful little girls out there and a lot of new fans that we love and adore," Brittany added during Thursday's red carpet interview. The couple noted that their two children are Swifties, too.
"Big football fans out here in the Mahomes household," Patrick said of their daughter Sterling, 3, and son Bronze, 19 months, adding that the little ones are also "Big Taylor Swift fans."
While Swift couldn't attend Thursday evening's ring ceremony, she did her best to virtually support Travis and the rest of the team from across the pond, as she is currently in Liverpool to perform her sold-out Eras Tour.
