Brittany Mahomes Is Reportedly Rethinking Her Support of Donald Trump After Taylor Swift Attack
Brittany Mahomes probably didn’t predict that the 2024 presidential election would turn into such a public spectacle for her. The 29-year-old Kansas City Current co-owner has found herself in the middle of a Donald Trump meltdown after her bestie Taylor Swift endorsed his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris for president.
On Sunday, Sept. 15, the former president posted “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” on Truth Social. That message “deeply bothered” Mahomes, according to the Daily Mail, because the fight was suddenly very personal — Swift is her BFF. Mahomes had already weathered through Swifties up in arms over her liking some of Donald Trump’s posts on Instagram, but the callousness of the former president’s message felt entirely different.

“She is questioning her support for Donald Trump after he lashed out at Taylor, saying he hates her,” a source told the media outlet. “This deeply bothered Brittany because Taylor is like a sister to her, and she has done absolutely nothing wrong.” Swift didn’t abandon Mahomes’ friendship after her political affiliation was revealed and that reportedly meant a lot to the mother of two. “She does not believe in hate in any form and loves Taylor so much,’ the insider added. “This shook her to the core.”\
This sudden change of heart probably doesn’t mean a vote for Kamala Harris, though. The heated situation “made her more aware of supporting him so publicly.” Donald Trump praised Mahomes on Fox and Friends on Wednesday, Sept. 11 after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris. He admitted that he’s “not a Taylor Swift fan” while adding, “I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better, if you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan. I like Brittany. Brittany’s great. … She’s a big MAGA fan.”
Brittany’s husband and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is keeping a more neutral stance in the presidential election, possibly because of the backlash his wife received. “I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote, to inform people to do their own research and then make their best decision for them and their family,” he said to reporters at a team press conference on Wednesday, Sept. 11. “Every time I’m on this stage and I get asked these questions, I’m going to refer back to that because I think that’s what makes America so great.”
